Dpreview is a fine source for information, but these shutter sound tests are not worth their bandwidth. To put it politely; Phil is not a sound engineer ;-) If you listen carefully, you will hear that recording are made in different rooms, with the microphone placed far away in some cases and

It's not shutter, it's a mirror and bouncing when released (so vibrations it does not affect shutter) and picture quality, but I agree Nikon creates click, click sound and does not bounce against the eye like russian AK, and Pentax_ with bang, bang sound. I expected K10D be at least quieter,
