Nowadays it's cheap enough to back up to portable hard drives, rather than to CDs. If you pay $10 for a 50-pack of CDs that's around $0.30/GB. At that price 250GB would cost you $75, which is about what you pay for a 320GB 2.5" drive in a USB enclosure. And, of course, it's a heck of a lot easie

AFAIK the diaphragm on the K & M lenses works differently to those on the A, F & FA lenses. One is quite linear in action, the other more of a curve. If the metering can't tell the difference between the two then one will be accurate across the range and the other will be accurate wide open

Thanks to everyone who responded. For the geekoids amongst you, basically I was testing out a Flash video encoder that works as a Quicktime plugin - means I can encode directly from the Final Cut timeline exporting as an .flv - this is useful as I would otherwise have needed an app like Sorenson S

I found the same thing ... The green button metering is accurate wide open and near that, but accuracy becomes increasingly off as the lens stops down. Several possible causes come to mind, but the unfortunate truth is that I never found a way to solve it that didn't have less desireable
