Well there is a difference between the Nikon D3200 specs also, and
they don't have shake reduction - so I doubt if that is the
explanation.
The "24.3 MP" Nikon D3200 ,which purportedly uses the same sensor and
has the exact same Image Size pixel dimensions as the K-3 (6,016 x

megapixels. I wonder if that suggests a different sensor, or maybe they

Thanks Christine, Godfrey and others for addressing my WD concern. I will
continue to poke away at the problem. The RAID is only 1TB per platter, I am
not sure it is worth it to buy an OWC enclosure for them. I do have an OWC 2TB
RAiD, I might swap in the smaller drives just to see what happens…

I tried it on a K3 and K-01. I wondered if there may be a compatibility
issue with live view so when I walked through the house I was using the
K3 with the finder, no live view. I also updated the K3 firmware to 1.21
before the test, just in case - but no luck.

Hi Mark, I'm not sure you wrote which camera. I see that the results with
Pentax flash units are mostly dependant on camera models. When trying P-TTL
with AF540FGZ, I got so-so results with the K-20D and completely
inconsistent results with the K-5 series*, while the K-3 seems to work very
well
The problem I had was a result of running their configuration software. It
jammed the thing solid, to the point where even WD was unable to make it work.
I pulled the drives out of the unit and tossed it.

Thanks again - I just tried more testing of the flash on the A* 200 and
got totally inconsistent results. I walked through the house and
randomly fired test images. There were three times when the flash

You could try to clean the contacts and the mount on the lens. A
lenses don't transmit any digital data like F lenses. Did you mount
the flash on the lens? It's heavy and with a long lens... maybe the
weight has some effect on the lens mount/contacts

Unless something changed recently, Apple is not releasing a patch for
the "Rootpipe" backdoor flaw for OS X versions prior to 10.10.3, so it looks
like Yosemite got patched & Mavericks didn't.

Stan, the only WD drive hooked up to the MBP is a portable drive I
keep a CCC backup on. OTOH my Mac Mini at home (my photo computer) has
an external WD MyBook that holds all of my pix (backed up to an OWC
drive with Time Machine).

I had a couple of WD RAID drives. The enclosures were crap, one failed within
three months, the other ran but the configuration software wouldn't. I wouldn't
blame OS X for their junk. I ripped all the drives out of those enclosures,
tossed the enclosures, and put the drives into OtherWo
