Exactly - that is where I fail miserably
my original score of 2 will no doubt bring joy to many - the ones I got
right required only that I recognize certain very famous people...
when I did it a second time I scored 6... was feeling pretty miserable

My Epson R2880 is still working, and I have been printing lately, just now in
fact, but the rollers aren’t always grabbing on the first try of a print. I
often have to try a
Our town has a Civic Arena with three regulation sized rinks; the local speed
skating club sponsored/hosted the US 2017 Age Group National Championships this
weekend. Short track, i.e. 500 meter races.
We spent a few hours there yesterday. This GESO has a few selections from that
shoot. We saw
When you regularly have 400 and up frames from a shoot, you learn how
to deal with them. :)
Lightroom's stars and Survey mode help a great deal. I do an initial
pass over all the shots quickly removing the technical duds.
Then another pass looking for weak shots and I promote the stronger
ones
The goldfinches continue to get more color. The sparrows continue to eat most
of my bird seed. All good! All shot with the K-1, D FA 150-450 and DA 1.4X
converter. All 630mm, f8 and 1/320th. Most are ISO 200 or thereabouts.
(Shooting TVA mode, so the ISO varies a bit.)
One thing I don't like about smart previews is that if you go to 100%
magnification it loads the raw and renders it all over again. That
takes some time. I actually don't use them very often because of that.
Just working with the raw directly seems a little faster in develop
mode though if work
If I have a huge set of photos I just import them and build 1:1
renders at import. That way I can flip through them and cull pretty
quickly. Thing is though that the previews are only really used in the
library in lightroom. As soon as you go to develop mode it rerenders
the raw. Another thing is
Oh, and running a stack with a Phillip Harris Phase objective on the
same camera/lens combo now.
Will be interesting to see how that compares.

Could be. This is an infinity-corrected objective, so it is designed to
leave the optical corrections to other parts of the optical path.
Good question, Mark. Beetle's life size is 3-4 mm and image chip is 44 mm. The
posted pic is uncropped. Eyeballing it, I'd say the beetle's image reach across
about two thirds of the frame, like 30 mm or thereabouts. So a magnification
