Hi Jan,
Thanks for the info! I have difficulties to train my eyes that way.
The vertical format is no problem when I started to take some portraits 
of my grandchildren.
The intention is, that later when "every thing is 3D" , they will have 
some early material.
Also I will have to spend some time to find ways to convert my stereo 
DNG's to available 3D TV.

adapter
a few weeks ago, and that works reasonably well.

I simply viewed them on a monitor, scaled so the two images are about 7 
centimeter apart.
With some eye training you can then look at them without any additional viewer 
hardware,
looking at the left image with the left eye and right image with the right one.

You just need to relax your eye muscles as if they are looking to an infinity 
target :)
It is the same procedure as used with the '3D' image books that got popular
quite a few years ago .



As the distance of the picture is different from the exact position of a slide,
I still have to see if the two pictures merge into the correct stereo view.

They do, but you need to scale the images properly,
certainly if you use the viewer this way to make separating
the images a little easier.

However, like in the film-days, when I used to make sterioscopic slides with 
this adapter,
the vertical format is a handicap for most subjects.

Back then I also had a real stero camara, with two 50mm lenses each
creating a full-frame 35mm image on slide film. They could be mounted
in a special slide-holder, and viewed with a viewer for that.
For landscap this was a lot more usable than the vertical Pentac ones ...

But it is nice to be able to use the stuff again, of a full-frame!

I succeeded in opening the viewer, it slides open by strong, but 
controlled force.

Holding the viewer against a picture on my smartphone delivers a sharp view!
As the distance of the picture is different from the exact position of a 
slide, I still have to see if the two pictures merge into the correct

I want to use my Pentax stereo adapter on my K1.
Want to use the stereo pictures in modern 3D systems.
In analogue days I looked to the stereo slides with the Pentax stereo 
viewer.
For starting I think to display the "stereo slides" on a smartphone and 
look to the picture through the Pentax stereo viewer.
To take out the matte screen from the viewer it has to be opened. I 
removed the three screws, but what now???
