Looks like we maybe able to use 3 kinds of battery. Though why does the grips pack have an SD card in it? Just for storage? Dave On 9/13/06, Digital Image Studio [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1036message=20005793 -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List

Yes, according to at least one person who has seen and used the grip. Shel [Original Message] From: David Savage Though why does the grips pack have an SD card in it? Just for storage? http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1036message=20005793 -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail

I don't think I'd use it to store an SD card, it seems somewhat inconvenient. But as storage for my 'always thinking I lost it' IR remote, it would be great. :-) Still not sure that I'll buy the battery grip though. I had one for the Canon 10D and almost never used it unless I was fitting

I used Bruce's D for a day, and while I'd probably not use the K10D with a grip, I may. The grip was really helpful shooting verticals. For someone who is shooting a lot in portrait mode, I'd suggest at least giving the grip a try. Shel [Original Message] From: Godfrey DiGiorgi Still

I am disappointed that the power source has to be a rechargeable lithium battery and not AA's like the other models. Am disappointed, too, that CF cards can't be used along side SD cards like one Canon DSLR model. I'll have to decide whether I want to move up or just use my *ist D until it goes

I feel for you and I too am bothered by the idea of a dedicated rechargable battery. The only upside is that the bats are supposed to be long lasting (500 shots w/50% flash use) and, if they are priced well, you can always have more on-hand for backup. For an old film/video guy like me though,
