Most technical photo books are very poor, and just an excuse for the
photographer to show off some of his pictures (they're almost all by
men).

Thanks Bill, Jack, Godders, Rick Markus, PJ and Bruce for your input.
Several of you commented that it is rather flat. I actually did do
that on purpose because, Rick you are correct, I was wanting it to be
moody and dreary. However, I guess I went too far :) Here is a

An excerpt from another report yesterday. It would appear to indicate that
Pentax et al. may not be opposed to a merger, they just changed their mind
regarding the conditions of the formerly proposed merger.

It did 'til someone advised me to put the final jpg image through "save

Seems it clears the EXIF data.(?)

Hello Jens,
Kids and sports - tricky to shoot well. I like the 'pose' you
captured of them. What I struggle with is feeling like they are in a
game, rather than a practice. What contributes to that

back in 1998. It is a reasonable lens. I found that the quality
of the photos is comparable to what I am getting with SMCP-F-70-210

I think that's definitely a stronger photo. The square crop suits it
well, the larger size and tonal edits make it more than the prior
rendering. Good job!

I see your point. But this guy isn't so bad. In fact it could be used as a
coffee table book. Not at a classy coffee table, but, you get the idea.
The thing that really caught my attention was the does not expire part. How

Yes, this looks much better - I don't think you lost the feel you were
trying to convey.

Where do you want to go today?
The basic principles of photography and dealing with exposure, light,
composition do not expire. Technology moves on and things change a little,
