lots of great bargains and lots of sales for me
there was a victor model 230 that vtla mark brought that was very nice
i got a vtla second model from ron haring for a very good price
a mahogany home with a repeater showed up also for a very good price
Synchro on 2-3-4 IIRC. 1-2 was still non synchro.

It's truly a small world after all. Some of you may know Barry Kasindorf
who posts to the list periodically.
I've known Barry for over 25 years (though we only met - physically -
once - at a phonograph show) as a fellow phonograph collector and was shocked
(and saddened) to read about
Barry is indeed a nice person, I have dealt with him on and offline, and value
his friendship. I would urge those who wish to do so to leave a message of
support in the online guest book available at the link to the obituary.

I couldn't agree with you more Jerry. My ex had one. I loved driving that car.
Some people called it a glorified VW, but it had power galore! There were a
number of times that guys came over and opened the car door for me when I drove
that carI knew it wasn't me because it never happened
Sooo Jerry, did you sell the 356 and keep the VW diesel rabbit?
Inquiring minds want to know.

To respond, I did point out one actual instance where I was taken advantage of,
and this person took advantage of many people, downright stealing rare
machines, never paying for them, etc. That's one substantiated case.
But where I said (and I am quoting myself here) I don't think dealers formed

Wait a minute, I have a 1966 Corvette. I have owned 4 Porsches, 5 MG's, 1
Triumph, 1 Rabbit. I can tell you none of them matches the excitement of a
vintage Corvette. OK, the Rabbit was a pickup truck and shouldn't count. This

Okay, you guys are killing me. My first care was a 1968 VW Karman Ghia,
which had basically the same engine as the earlier Porsche 356. The
later models had a street legal modified race engine. My Ghia had a rare
factory installed gas powered heater. It sipped gas from the tank to

Because new cars have no place on an antique phonograph site---old cars

Yep and they can both break your arm. Jerry Blais cranked her right over but
he has sooo many phonographs that his right arm looks like Popeye. Now on

From experience you have to wind up both of them to get them to do
anything. Used to have a T speedster in college. It was the perfect
party car as it is impossible to get a ticket when using a T as a party car.
