Good morning all.
I received an email this morning from a list member stating that it would be
nice if I did not use Phono-L for my personal email or soapbox, and that not
everyone wants to hear all this. It was further stated that the purpose of
Phono-L was to share and further our knowledge
John,
You owe no one an apology. Yes, one purpose of the list is to share
further knowledge about the hobby. Phono-L is also a conduit for
socialization among those of us who share common bonds.
Folks, if you get your panties in a wad over some non-phono related
chatter, run your own listserve
Everyone,
It had been suggested to me by a couple of people to right up my story about
how I fisrt got the Phono Fever at the age of 26 years old. Unfortunately it
will contain parts of my life away form the topic of Phonos as I overcame major
life issues. I guess now it would be
Non phono things have to part of your story. I saw my first phono ( which I
now own) when I was in first grade. Talking about school has nothing to do
with phonos but everything to do with the story.

Personally I find life anecdotes interesting. I don't think most
would object as long as the Subject line was accurateand the posting
was sincere.
A first-line disclaimer might be nice for those who look to these
posts as refuge from the worlds woes.

Ron L,
I just to not want to get someone mad at me for posting. I will just keep my
post phono related and not swing away from that.
I find it a loss but I do not make the rules.

It is not going to ruffle my feathers and as far as I am concerned I am
now interested in reading your tail of contracting phono fever.

Ron,
I was around your age when I seen my first phono in my Grandpa's basement

I purchased from my uncle. Hoping to pass to one of my grandchildren.

I'll chime in here and also say that your story of how you discovered

Hi Phonograph Friends
All this good feedback concerning Ken's great phonograph interests and
hardships, inspired me to send this, for it just is not all about all of the
phonographs we collected and care about, it's also about the collector
friends here on Phono-L and other phonograph
Hello to All,
Reading all the post concerning personal stories . . . one value of the stories
hasn't been mentioned.
Sharing of one's introduction to the hobby of phonograph and/or related
collecting could be inspirational to the next generation.

Now my 2 cents... I have read many posts that I wasn't particularly interested
in, or seemed to pertain to a particular subject, which didn't initially strike
me as interesting. That being said, I have learned a lot about the various

The W-250 is a William and Mary. I would be astonished if that is not in the
