Hi,
Another option would be to get people to split into 2 teams, and have
bug fix team and new feature team, where people specifically look at
those features. Make a slightly bigger divide between the two projects.
Why not simple delay another buggy release 4.3.0?

I've had at a look at the bug reports Sebastian Nohn pointed

which would qualify PHP as being buggy as hell. Still,
having these fixes in 4.2.3 would be a definitive advantage.

wide-spread OS software will be forced to use ZE2. Take
a look at Sebastian Bergmanns openTracker oder the Horde guys. They always
use the latest available features of PHP. These are just two examples for OS
projects that force people to upgrade their PHP to a recent version.

that works as expected, on the

But a code-freeze will not happen and as youself said, it's impossible to

buggy 4.3 will be on windows
(http://lists.php.net/article.php?group=php.qaarticle=7279). I do not
develop on windows, so I have no idea if PHP always was so buggy on windows,
but in my eyes 4.3 is far from being ready to be released if you take the
windows-versions.
