It depends. If you're using a packaged system (debian, fedora etc etc) -
install the modules package (php-imap, php-mcrypt).
If you compiled from source, you'll need to recompile with different

Actually I believe it was the registers global which I had already
changed. I just didnt get to see the results of changing it
becuase I did mess that user_name vs. name part up...but at least now

Now, I can't seem to locate my php.ini file.
I've looked in
C:\
C:\windows
C:\windows\system (and system32)
to no success.
