I would simply add -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true at java call to work
around this problem without requiring the user changes his/her setup. At

I tried Timo Lindfors' fix, and here's what I get:

So there seems to be another issue (as the MOTD reading was not the fatal
error preventing the start).

I've searched my disk for rental/library.png and found
/usr/share/icons/openstreetmap/classic.small/shop/rental/library.png provided
by package openstreetmap-map-icons-classic which is a dependency of josm. I've
checked the version of that package in debian stable and the file layout seems
similar enough (at least the path to rental/library.png is the same).

[DebianGIS-dev] Bug#569585: gmt-coastline-download installs files but they are not seen by GMT

2010-02-12 Thread Enrico Zini
Package: gmt-coast-low

Hello,

Thank you for maintaining GMT.

I have just run gmt-coastline-download and it worked fine, the files are
there, however:

$ GMT psbasemap -R12/16.5/36/39 -Jm1i -B0 -P -K -USicily test   /tmp/foo.ps
$ GMT pscoast -R12/16.5/36/39 -Jm1i -O -K -Bg30 -Df -Wlightgray  /tmp/foo.ps
pscoast: full resolution shoreline data base not installed
pscoast: No databases available - aborts

I noticed that GMT's README.Debian mentions files ending with .cfg
that are not present in the downloaded tarballs, but that may be a typo
in the README.Debian.

[DebianGIS-dev] We need this josm plugin webkitimageqt

2010-02-12 Thread jamesmikedup...@googlemail.com
Hi all,

I have been fighting for getting webkitimageqt into debian for a while.

I can understand that no one is really interested in the package,
but it is needed to use josm properly. If you don't have it, you
cannot use josm properly.

The problem that I see is the merkaator is a great tool that is
competing with josm,
and that the same kde team is responsible for this 100 line qt program
in theory,
but no one is really interested in helping out the josm.

The ITP bug report is here:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=569040

The git repo is here :
http://github.com/h4ck3rm1k3/webkitimageqt

The package builds and I cleaned up the packaging a bit.

Please approve me on ailloth for the kde packaging team or tell me the
team that is responsible for this.

thanks,

mike

Did the JOSM splash screen show up? The program just died, or you killed
it? Have you tried deleting (or moving elsewhere) the ~/.josm dir?

So there seems to be another issue (as the MOTD reading was not the fatal
 error preventing the start).

I've searched my disk for rental/library.png and found

The error marked as fatal is really not fatal: I get it every time, but
JOSM works nice for me.

Anyway, also the ipv6 issue is not fatal here, because I can start josm
even with the bindv6only option set (even if then it cannot connect with
the API).

Giovanni.

This is not true: without this program you can't use, only in some

it's quite different from not using Josm at all.

I think it would be better to build it within the josm-plugins package,
as an additional binary package. Unfortunately, josm and josm-plugins
are bothering us quite a lot with license-related issues. When I'll have
the time to work again on it, I'll consider building a new binary
package for webkit-image.

Meanwhile, if you want to help for this, you're welcome!

Ok,
I will build a plugins package with all plugins individually .

what about :
 josm-plugin-webkitimageqt
 josm-plugin-validator

and two virtual packages :
 josm-plugins-restricted
 josm-plugins-unrestricted

etc.. patches to github, I can host them on tuxfamily as well,
would be great to become a developer. I have been wanting to do that anyway.
