I believe that there are going to be many KDE4 apps not ported in 6
months (taking into account that not even Dolphin, a central part of
the desktop, is officially released yet for Plasma 5). Let's wait
until then and decide, but I don't share this urge for getting rid of
KDE4 stuff at all :/

I've just brought back kdeconnect-kde into Kubuntu with only the files
for kioslave and file action in the .deb, this adds back file browsing
in dolphin which is still kde4.

Groovy, uploaded to Kubuntu and added to seed
Packaging at

Named kdeconnect-plasma as upstream Albert's preferred name.

I don't think that kdeconnect-plasma is a bad name, it goes with the new
kde release.

I agree with this. But Debian's real maintainer is David, so he is the one who
has to ACK the name.

OK. I misread the email then. I'd just call it what upstream is going to
call it then if Debian is willing to do the same. I agree it's inelegant, but
users will rarely see it since this will get installed primarily via
metapackage (I assume).

Ug it's already
Debian haven't made a decision as it hasn't been packaged yet. The
question for now is should we diverge from probable upstream naming.

ppa:jr/ppa install kdeconnect-plasma5
Upstream releases the kdelibs4 version as kdeconnect-kde and plans to
release the plasma
