Hi... some further info to finish and clear this up
The version of SLiM in Squeeze does support PAM but for some curious
reason does not create the appropriate file in /etc/pam.d
The user must create a file called 'slim' in /etc/pam.d/ and place the
following line in it:
session required pam
reassign 612023 slim
retitle 612023 "slim: fails to inherit realtime permissions via PAM"
