As of commit f2a8918 I have finished propagating Phil's new plmap* API
and his illustration of that API with the Exmoor contour map page in C
and C++ example 19 to Lua, Python, Octave, and Java. This extra page
is really a nice demonstration of the new API, and I am looking

Our last release was way back in February of this year so I think it
would be a good idea to get out another release fairly soon, say 6
weeks from now near the beginning of December. That is about the
latest time in a year I would like to make a release so as not to
conflict with Christmas holiday
