Infrequently, when I'm typing along in LibreOffice Writer (Version 6.0.7.3, Build ID: 1:6.0.7-Oubuntu0.1.18.04.10) the cursor will change from a vertical solid bar to a vertical dotted bar. I have no idea why it changed. So far, the only way I've found to change it back is to close Writer and

If you’re getting “file too large”, its probably the client complaining, not the server. When I’ve had that in the past, its because legacy firmware made assumptions about file size and there was some intermediate firmware that fixed it, allowing you to move forward. You may have luck looking
