Since Greg is MIA I fixed up the SiriusRadio plugin to work with 7.4
The changes were actually quite minor, but I cleaned up a few other
small things while I was at it, like the song title fetching from

Yes, but had you connected the SBR to mysqueezebox.com before your
local server shutdown? That's the case where we seem to be running into
trouble.

The plugin itself logs to server.log...which is quite normal for

I've noticed all these oddities with Mediafly plus others. (And my posts

Has anyone else tried inserting a Mediafly entry into a playlist? Good
luck with that... You hear the desired
It is clear that Softsqueeze plays OK but also it does not show the
error message so I think the error message is related to the problem.
It also seems likely that Softsqueeze settings may be different to h/w
players so Softsqueeze is not affected.
What 3rd Plugins have you installed ?

I was finally able to upgrade my system to SBS 7.41 and the plugin now

Okay. The error may not have related to some minor issues I was seeing this
morning. I'll have another play on SB3 when I go upstairs and see if I can
remember what those issues were (and jot them down this time!).

BBCiPlayer should not have audio dropouts as it does not play RealAudio.
Gaps can occur due to buffering - are you getting "buffering messages"
?
Buffering can be due to processor or network overload or poor LAN. What
type of processor/system running SBS have you got ?

If I remember correctly, this is the situation.
Dynamic Playlist doesn't know if you have used a query with 2 or 3
result parameters, so it first try to use 3 and if it gets an error it
will use 2. Unfortunately, the error is logged deep do

The Radiofeeds UK APP has up to date URLs for WMA including many local
Radio ones.
The Logitech ones in the BBC App are a bit out of date but should still
work OK for non UK listeners.

Ah-ha! Somehow I'd missed that.. And it worked fine: many thanks.
Even the relatively poor WMA quality is no issue for me, at least so far
as the Alarm function goes, as I pipe that through the whole-house
intercom system (OK, but not exactly hi-fi). Once I've grasped the

Do you need to use the iPlayer URL at all? AFAIK, the BBC WMA streams

One of the things I love about my set-up is the ability (here in Texas!)

a) iPlayer seems to have solved the constant rebuffering that I have
been getting using Alien to play live streams.
b) iPlayer output is definitely a notch quieter than the Alien
equivalent.

With RC5 is might get easy :)
You just need the adress and command.
Commands for volume up and down are 16/17. The adress can be found in
the table here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RC-5.
Don't know under what category your speakers fall, maybe 'preamp' (=16)
?
As they are just 31 possibilities
FFWD works for me but I find if you try to ffwd within the first about
30 secs of playing it will fail.
So when you try to FFWD wait about 30 secs after audio has started and
alsop make sure the "buffering" message has gone and see if that works.

I've noticed a few things not quite working, although this was last night in
bed, and this morning I can't remember what I was going to report ;-) I'll
report them when I remember/rediscover them ;-)
In the mean time, I checked the logs this morning, and saw the following:
