I do not understand exactly what you mean
I have managed:

Now I think I understand what you did, thanks.
You have two year lists, one for release date and one for original
release date, and I wanted to combine those two lists into one year
list.
It is all a matter of taste.
For me

For me these values are different values, so for me it is logical to
have them in separated lists.

If you want to combine your lists for MP3 albums with flac albums you

Erland helped me in this thread:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=503729#post503729. I have
sort of managed to merge original release time data from both MP3 and
flac files (i.e. TORY and ORIGYEAR) into one tag/list with years.
I will now try to get a list
Wowo,
You said that you have both flac and MP3 files with different tags for
release year and original release year. Did you manage to use CustomScan
to combine two tag types them into one custom tag and, if so, how did
you accomplish this?
I have MP3 files with ID3v2.3 TYER and, where

I can now browse my Mp3 music files (tagged Id3v2.4) by the correct

First I have tagged all my Mp3 files with:

I have been done some further investigation.
I have made a custom tag named OWNER in MP3tag and look what Custom

The conclusion is Custom does read ID3v2.4
