Goodbye Chris DeBurgh - I'll miss you.

Yeah, SmartMix certainly showed too much love for Chris De Burgh for my
taste...

just pm'd you about this- give me a shout.

How could you help with Chris De Burgh?!? :-P

Thanks!

Please uninstall the plugin. I'm going to release another "update" which
would do this for you if you decided to not remove it, but install the
update instead...

How long do you pause? Normally pause/resume does work as well ast "next
track". What do you mean by "skip"? (moving to next track in playlist?)

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Please help me get Spotify Working on my Transporter!

2016-06-06 Thread scoob101

Been tinkering with this for a good few hours but cant get it to work.

I have LMS 7.9 running on a windows server 2012 box.
Just got Spotify Premium. Desperate to get it working on my Transporter.
My understanding is this should work by using the Spotify Protocol
Handler.

I tried Following these instructions
http://www.gerrelt.nl/RaspberryPi/wordpress/spotify/ but I don't get any
music.

As of now, I have Spotify Protocol Handler, Official Spotify app, and
Triodes 3rd party Spotify App installed on my LMS.

When I use the 3rd Party Spotify App from the Web interface to try and
play Spotify, I can navigate to my playlists, and select one to play.
The album art appears, and the Transporter tries to play the track,
fails, and moves onto the next track, failing to play anything each
time.

When I go to Plugins in the web interface, and select Spotify protocol
handler, I get a 404 not found error. So I tried de-selecting the plug
in, restart server, and then re-apply the plugin.

Even after this, I still get a 404 error when I try to to go the
Protocol Handler config page.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction

Thanks!

Unlikely for ordinary users. The imda feed is intended for vendors and
I sort of expect at some time in thge future that the BBC will allow
vendors use the Nitro API to get program info. Use of Nitro needs a
user id and the T's are aimed at vendors but at the moment only BBC
people get Nitro user ids . Nitro is currently used by BBC Android radio
player app.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version

I've got a SB Classic with LMS 7.7.5 and BBC iplayer v1.3.1 alpha3. I am
outside of the UK. Radio 2, 3, 4, 4extra live streams all work happily.
I was tidying up my Favourites list and discovered that the link in the
BBC iplayer menu for World Service live stream doesn't play. An icon is
displayed in the now playing pane on LMS, but no sound is produced. I
tried both UK and non-UK.

The entry at Radiotime of

does work.

Did I miss a change in iplayer that removed World Service?

OK - thanks very much. I was struggling to see how LMS, and I imagined
with the chromecast plugin, fitted into your solution. It doesn't of
course.

I guess one could equally have done this using an Android LMS controller
telling our LMS server to send the channel via the chromecast plugin to
your Bantam T-amp.

I'll stop getting off thread now.

I set up the cast to a chromecast which is connected to a small Bantam
T-Amp and some speakers. Once the cast is set up the phone can be
switched off as the chromecast is directly connected to the BBC's
server.

I've connected a file called BBC Radio.txt If you rename this to BBC
Radio.m3u (file extension not accepted for attachments) and transfer it
to your android device and then tap on the file it will open a dialog
which asks how you want to open this file. Mine had Google Music Play,
ES Music Player and ES Chromecast player. I hadn't realised I had the
Chromecast Player until this dialog box opened as it doesn't appear as
an installed app.

Not clear whether you want high or low quality or UK and non UK - these
are the decisions before create a menu - otherwise you'll have dozens of
entries for same event.

Have a look at the dffierences between the alterntive supplied menu.opml
file such as national-non-uk-menu.opml and national-uk-menu.opml

Structure of menu.opml is same as all LMS opml with standard parameter
such as name, url, type and icon. The BBCiPlayer special URL type is
iplayer:// and this is used to pass to BBCiPlayer plugin alternative
URLs for a station/program

Example of OPML outline element

Code:

http://radio-service-information.api.bbci.co.uk/logos/bbc_radio_one/600x600.png;

URL="iplayer://live?hls=http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_one.m3u8dash=http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/dash/nonuk/dash_low/ak/bbc_radio_one.mpdicon=http://radio-service-information.api.bbci.co.uk/logos/bbc_radio_one/600x600.pngradiovis=fm/ce1/c201/09880onair=bbc_radio_one;
 />

A full iPlayer is URL is shown in red. It follows normal URL layout
with protocol desigrator preceding "//:" and parameters after location
with an initial "?" and separate by "&". The "&" in a URL has to be
escaped in OPML file using ""

It starts with iplayer://live? for Live streams or iplayer://aod? for
On-demand
Next the URls for the stream this is in the form of a "hls=" for HLS
stream and "dash=" for SASH stream. The special handling of MP3 live
streams etc is not detailed here.

>From the above example HLS URL is shown below.
In the URL the "nonuk" determines a non UK stream. "ak" is the CDN.
Quality is determined by the "sbr_low"
hls=http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_one.m3u8

>From the above example dash URL is shown below.
In the URL the "nonuk" determines a non UK stream. "ak" is the CDN.
dash=http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/dash/nonuk/dash_low/ak/bbc_radio_one.mpd

The icon displayed when playing is the "icon=" as part of BNBCViP{;layer
URL and not the icon in the opml outline element
icon=http://radio-service-information.api.bbci.co.uk/logos/bbc_radio_one/600x600.png

Radiovis is a BBC expeirmential service and can be ignored for event -
don't bothe including the parameter.

I prefer to have the cricket on as a background commentary in my lounge,
so that I can come in and out to the game. The Android phone solution
would require me to have an earphone (which I find uncomfortable) and to
be continually discharging my phone battery. Similarly for the
Android/BBC media player solution which I find garbles the commentary.

These are the only options in my lounge as there are no desktops,
laptops or notepads in there. And the county cricket isn't on Network
Radio, except as a summary from time to time.

Listening to live sport I understand. To stray off-thread-topic briefly
(sorry) can you explain why it's useful to be able to do this via an
Android phone and chromecast? (It's not that I don't believe you find
it useful, it's just that being rather slow I don't understand).

Thanks for this.

I successfully listened to a couple of one-day cricket matches over the
weekend using Live Event XX through my android phone and the high bit
rate dash stream casting to a chromecast. The ES File Manager App has a
chromecast stream player built in.

Finding the correct stream is haphazard but the ones I've been
interested in so far have been very near the top of the list.

If someone could give me a template for writing them in the menu.opml
(Say Using Live Event No 001 with a New Section for Live Events) I
would be happy to copy and paste the remaining twenty or so and publish
here.

Perhaps eventually the BBC will publish a numerical live event index on
a rolling basis.

Just to say all is now well, and the log exceptionally clean. A
periodic re-install may be a wise move :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin

2016-06-06 Thread Michael Herger

I am truly saddened by this news. Just last week I had expunged another
"Lady in Red" from my library that Smart Mix had unearthed from a
soundtrack album.

Goodbye Chris DeBurgh - I'll miss you.

Yeah, SmartMix certainly showed too much love for Chris De Burgh for my
taste... I think it even managed to add him after I've set SmartMix up
to only index parts of my library. Which does NOT include Chris De Burgh!
