If you refer to the icy-br header: This is a fixed value, hardcoded in
the php script, which triggers the audio generation and delivers the
file (based on
https://github.com/openhab/openhab/wiki/Use-local-TTS-with-squeezebox).
After I switched to CBR in lame, I changed the icy-br value to 128

Thanks for the plugin. I have it running, my Chromecast Gen 1 was
discovered after restart of lms (running on Ubuntu 16.04 64bit) so seems
to be fine. When I want to play music on this player, my TV screen
shows, that the chromcast wis streaming something but there is no audio.

128kbps is the bit rate not the sampling rate - the sampling rate is
typically something like 22050Hz 32kHz 44.1kHz, 48Khz but some audio
The OP posted some log output on github
(https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/issues/123#issuecomment-266562864)
which says the stream was 48kHz.

since lms is a streaming server and the direct url field is for a direct
url from another streaming server i would be surprised when the file
would be played.
Just for your information: you can play anything playable from that
input field. Local file, radio stream, virtual URL

UWP apps are automatically suspended in the background, so the app has
to disconnect when that happens. Locking the computer
Thanks for responding. It is late here now so I will look at this and
play w it over the next several days.
Thanks again !

Thanks, but I've already disabled the Bluetooth and the wifi cards in
the pi and I still get the pops and cracks :-(

I'm not sure, if that is what you asked for, so please exuse, if it

If MP3 doesn't play then it is usually because the format (i.e. sampling
rate, 1or 2 channel) is not compaitble/supported with the underlying
audio subssytem.
What are the characteristics of the stream ?

In fact, the desired environment would be a Text-to-Speech setup for
openhab with the squeezebox add-on, which, as far as I see it correctly,
uses the direct URL to a webserver to request a file/stream. Like I
said, it's working fine on a Windows computer with squeezebox.
Hi Guys,
I have recently purchased a IQaudio digi+ which I have connected to a
NAD D3020 Amp via a toslink optical connector. I have been having some
trouble getting the best perfomance from the board and a range of
raspberry pi music Distros.
I have been testing the board with

Hi all together!
I've a problem getting an mp3 file streamed trough
squeeboxserver/LMS/Slimserver to a squeezelite service running on the
same machine. For a short background: Playing a playlist from a web
radio works pretty fine, also playing an mp3 file from the server where
LMS is running
Phillippe in the original post you mentioned that SSL must be enabled.
Being a novice I have no clue on how to check for this ? Any help in
that regard would be appreciated. I run LMS 7.9.0 on a Windows 7 PC.
Thanks.
Each time I dismiss my screensaver/unlock my computer the Squeeze
Control app window is blank and I have to reconnect. Is there any way
around this?

Sure, I just like the ickStream Tidal UI better, and I'm looking for a
local low power solution which will outlive MySB.com and provide a more
stable alarm
I always wondered how the player drop down list was ordered, because it
wasn't alphabetically. I really wanted to be our kitchen player to be
number one.
So I renamed it to "1-Kitchen...". But that didn't bring it to the top
of the list.
Recently in another forum thread (about a squeezer
But you don't need ickStream just to get Tidal. It's available from MySB
without any additional requirement.

Nope, on the contrary.
I found the Ickstream applet and wondered if and how it could be
installed on the Squeezebox Touch. On that subject Pippin was kind
enough to respond and
7.9.0 - 1453469922
Get the latest nightly. That one's almost a year old. I think I added
the possibility to play Spotify URIs not that long ago.

Hi,
I just got hold of an Orangepiplus2e board (allwinner H3 - Arm
v7/v8), on which I managed to install Armbian_5.24.161209
Ubuntu_xenial_3.4.113. I needed to go for the nightly build as I
couldn't get past the kernel headers update on the "stable 5.23" version
initial install and update. GCC
7.9.0 - 1453469922
I've realised this isn't such a big thing for me know as i have access
to playlists via the official app but I'm still interested in the
answer.

However, if I try to play an album (e.g. "playlist play
spotify://album:21dbYScNUKn2Y1Vae8lACJ") it doesn't work.
What LMS version are you using? You'll need 7.9 for this to work.

Didn't Pippin suggest an applet not a plugin ? if it is a true Applet
then not the same as a plugin.
