The same problem here. Have been using this plugin every day. I had a
list ready to play with 32 videos in que. No sound... Checked,
everything else ok, radios playing, Raspberry rebooted, API keys ok,
video seems to be playing but with no sound in the web administration.
Hardware shows "connecting". Further looking into web administration of
the server, I found an update for the plugin, I have 0.87.0 version now.
Some videos I can play, some not - I have not discovered the reason.
When the video is playing i see constant bitrate shown on the web and
the exact number. E.g.: 132kbps CBR, YouTube (aac@44100Hz) When not I
see only: 0, YouTube (aac@Hz)
Please, make it work again, this is the most useful plugin I have ever
seen for Squeezebox! ;)

All of my players had disappeared from the Spotify Android available

I had spotty working really nicely, and after an LMS reinstall, can't
get it to work again.

Can you share a little more information? What hardware & OS are you
running LMS on?

Using LMS and spotty on win7, all working fine in web interface, but not
through 'available devices' features on mobile app. My player/s just
don't appear as options.

Did you enable Connect mode for your players in Settings/Advanced/Spotty?

Changes:

- Fixed bug introduced in 2.2.11 that can cause crash/freeze on

- Include latest version of squeezelite-win software player
1.9.2-1158, which fixes Spotty native ogg/vorbis track skipping, among

Perhaps, having become used to the taste of bullets, you might upgrade

might then give you a few extra years of idleness.

That’s what I reasoned, anyway, about a year ago, when I was in your

Which iOS and iPeng version is this? There should not have been any

Uh Oh. Well, first, thanks for promptly letting me know. I seriously
appreciate that. So, you had no issues with 2.2.10? I was going to
suggest disabling Run In Background, but you cannot get that far.
You'll have to uninstall and re-install, then it will default to not
allow run in background. I may need to undo the change I just made to
hide the main Window on startup when Allow Run in Background is true.
The application framework I am using insists on showing the main Window,
so I have code that hides it very early in the startup process. I
cannot reproduce your error, but I suspect that I am hiding the Window
at the wrong time in your case, so I need to re-look at that timing.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

2.2.11 does not work here:

(Square one) When started, SLX is visible on the taskbar (orange
background). Clicking it doesn't do anything. It's not possible to close

Killing the process tree and restarting SLX doesn't help, it's back to

Yeah, the limit was 350px - I've changed this to 290px for 0.8.1 The
reason why it was initially done was in mobile layout with the
list/toggle button, and the add and play buttons, there was insufficient
space. However, for 0.8.0 I moved the list/grid toggle into the settings
menu - so now there is more space.

You should still be able to start LMS with ---nomysqueezebox- and still
use mysqueezebox to resize images.

I would remove the local resizing of remote URLs, but it was added by
Michael as a user was complaining about Qobuz images.

Keep in mind that if you're using your local machine, it not only might
be a slower machine than what is running on mysqueezebox.com. But the
download of potentially large files might take longer, and above all,
you're not taking advantage of mysb's cache, which likely would already
have a scaled copy in its cache (in particular if you're browsing a
popular listing like some Spotify Top X playlist).

It's not Material, its the downloading of the plugin from github. You
can always install manually (and would also need to install updates
manually)

- Download a release - e.g.

Confused me for a while. Then I realised, in 0.8.0 I restrict
now-playing and background images to 1024x1204 max - so resizing
involved. Not sure why its slow though, as the RP images are actually
smaller, so resizing not required.

My fix seems to works with both pre and post 29 April LMS so it may be
OK to use.

MIchael,

With regard to the change in BASE.pm. The "playlist" attribute used to

string. What should the value be of the "playlist" attribute - a boolean
1 or 0 or the the playlist type ?

I'm interested in this because you use Slim::Music::Info::isPlaylist
which does not refer back to the playlist protocol handler (relying on
simple type processing) whereas the method
Slim::Music::Info::isPlaylistURL returns 1 or 0 and it reverts to the
playlist protocol handler even though comments in method indicates it is
not liked yet it is called many times while playing a stream.

I've installed 7.9.2 & that seems to have fixed the problem but I'm

I have no delays on my setup either, which is why its odd the some (well
at least 1) others do. However, the change for 0.8.1 is simply making
sure the Material default matches the LMS default.

I've been trying out Radio Paradise on Material 0.80 and I don't get any
delay with new images displaying as tracks change. mysqueezebox.com has
been blocked on my system with a firewall rule and LMS is set to local
resizing - it's been like that for at least 2 years if I remember
correctly. Looking at the changelog for v0.81 it seems like the changes
will have no little or impact on my setup. Obviously your can't predict
what will happen to all the different systems out there but in your

Don't know if it's relevant but Spotify is fine on 0.80 as well.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Problem: can not auto connect to LMS

2019-06-11 Thread Ikabob

Received an email that requested a new password for Spotify for which I

Woke up this morning only to find that my players have disconnected from

This issue interrupted my automatic reconnect to LMS and so none of my

I guess I need some advice my squeezbox ecosystem has become a vital

I saw your tweak but I'm not sure it made a difference so I'd prefer to
take time to understand the whole issue but making any LMS change
suggestions. Having a dummy "hls" audio type is not significant as it is
also needed to keep Tune-in happy.

My main worry is to have a plugin that will work with LMS with/without
this change.

AFAIK, ---nomysqueezebox- should be OK - as you can call the
mysquuezebox image resizing URL without needing to be registered. But,
if you block it with a firewall rule, then images will not show - as
they will be blocked. Toggling the setting on LMS to local resizing
would then be required. Note, however, that local resizing of remote
images seems *very* slow for some users - 20ish seconds! I'm not sure
why that is, but as LMS is single threaded its not good news.

The 0.8.1 Material default setting is just syncing up with the LMS
default. If there is no config item set for this, LMS defaults to
mysqueezebox, but Material (0.8.0) was defaulting to local. This is
obviously wrong.

I've been following the conversation about Radio Paradise image
rendering delays and just seen in the Material github changelog that you
have defaulted to mysqueezebox.com for resizing images from external

Is this of any consequence for those of us who have blocked

You have not provided details of the underlying system (e.g. NAS, PC, OS
version) . The version of Perl is quite old and this may be indicative
of the age of some of the support libraries.

It does look to be openSSL related. The Perl module relies on system
specific openSSL libraries so Paul's suggestion is a good start.

SSL is an area which has had many frequent updates and BBC tends to use
more recent versions of TLS compared to other sites (especially as the
API the plugin uses is BBC "private" API) and so system updates not just
Perl ones are essential.

The problem is due to the change supplied by maniac103 29 April 2019
Slim/Formats/Playlists/Base.pm

I think I have a fix for later version but not sure if I can have a fix
that works for LMS both pre and post 29 April and testing for LMS
"version" is not enough.

I'm not sure if the problem is whether I have not been "complete" in my
HLS implementation or whether the patch is based on a simplistic
knowledge of radio streams.

However I'm not happy with my current fix and I need to spend more time
understand what is happening in LMS and what the change has done. I am
wondering whether the current patch should have allowed a "handler" to
have input in determining whether the stream is a playlist or not. When
I have done more investigation I'll be more certain.

Normal radio streams are playlist which can have a number of URLs each
of which can be a different audio format. The audio format can be
determined either form the URL or from headers.

HLS streams have a Master playlist and then a Media playlist and then
the actual playlist - so it takes a few GETs before the audio type of
the stream can be determined and only from the stream content (i.e.
MP3, AAC-ADTS, AAC-MPEG2, AAC-MPEG4) and not headers. To handle this
situation the plugin uses scanStream which is little used but handling
of stream which cannot be determined from initial headers. I'm not sure
if this is part of the issue.

HLS is a not an audio formats like "pls" but at the moment my fix
requires a "hls" (defined as a playlist type in custom-types.conf ) to
have conversion rules (in custom-convert.conf) that will never be used
since the ultimate audio format will be aac or mp3. This seems wrong so
I am looking for a solution that seem more correct. Separately but
related, for Tune-in to return "hls" streams and "hls" audio type needs
to be defined so there is a need for a dummy "hls" audio type to defined
with rules that will never be used.

HLS streams are provided using m3u8 URLs. The m3u8 URL that should be
played is known as the master playlist which provides audio format and
bit rate. However many users provide the media playlist m3u8 URLs so no
audio format and bit rate. Rather than reject the user provided URLs
the plugin uses the stream content to determine audio format and this
seems to be common practice as some HLS broadcasters have incorrect
Master playlist compares to actual stream.
