Again, maybe peculiar to my system is that Z2 is outside and quite a distance from the amp, and as such the remote doesn't work when outside. Yes, I know, set it before you go outside, but I usually turn the LMS on with Z2 when already outside. I will give the 4.1 beta a run :-) Cheers, David *Server*rpi3 pCP7.0.1 LMS8.1.2 *Media*USB hard drive *Lounge/dining areas*SBT > Denon AVR2113 > Bose Acoustimass10 / Krix Seismix3 18" 300w RMS custom cinema sub (& AR 77XB t/table, Stanton 680MkII / Grado F-1+ > NAD7155 to phono pre-amp > Amp+) *Family/kitchen*SBT > Denon AVRX3000 zone 1 > Krix Acoustix F, Centrix C, Holographix R & Original Seismix 7 15" 400w RMS sub *Alfresco*as above zone 2 > Krix Tropix *Others*SB Player/androids > Bose Soundlink Mini *SBT/SB Player Remotes* Squeeze Ctrl/androids DavidBulluss's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=60056 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60114 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Then when the system turns on again it will go back to your "safe" QS volume. In this way the plugin will just give you X%, based on the SB volume, of what your Denon is capable of. And when you turn off the LMS player it will in turn reset the QS setting when you turn it back on again. Now don't take this to the bank and I really want people to try 4.1 vs 4.0 a bit to really give us an evaluation. But one thing that could possibly be done is to put a menu item in the plugin that boosts up (or down) the current Denon volume, but only for that session. This would work the same way as you picking up the Denon remote and making that change for that Zone. And when the plugin turns on again it would call the QS value that would set the volume to the level you default to. Again not promising anything but something to ponder. It would probably be in version 4.2. In this version for example I let you increase or decrease each channel +/- 12 db. This would be the same but for the volume itself. If one of you Heos folks could educate me on how this product works I would appreciate it. I went to the Denon site but it appears HEOS is discontinued. I honestly don't understand why anyone would choose or need to run the plugin with the player set to variable output level. However, if they want to, they now have a supported way to do it that works in a way that makes sense. Just make a choice. Who do you want to be in charge of client volume changes -- the Squeezebox player or the AVR preamp? It can't be both. I don't see what the problem is but I'm always willing to listen to logical arguments. So far, I haven't heard any convincing ones. David, of you occasionally want to use other sources, I don't understand why you wouldn't want the Squeezebox output fixed at 100% so that only the AVR volume level changes. With SB audio output fixed at 100%, the Squeezebox volume becomes this fictional thing, and plugins like ours react to the Squeezebox fictional volume changing by changing the real AVR volume. Then there's no worry that you'll face some dramatic change in speaker volume when you change AVR inputs. You definitely don't want the Squeezebox output level changing if your amp ever uses other audio sources. owner of the stuff at https://tuxreborn.netlify.app/ (which used to reside at www.tux.org/~peterw/) Note: The best way to reach me is email or PM, as I don't spend much time on the forums. *Free plugins:* AllQuiet Auto Dim/AutoDisplay BlankSaver ContextMenu DenonSerial FuzzyTime KidsPlay KitchenTimer PlayLog PowerCenter/BottleRocket SaverSwitcher SettingsManager SleepFade StatusFirst SyncOptions VolumeLock peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60114 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

One thing to think about: There are two settings in the Denon we are talking about here. One is the maximum volume that you will let any device set the Denon's output too, and then there is the volume that you assign to a Quick Select that you dedicate to a player like LMS. Of course the QS setting must be <= the max value for the Denon. But yes, if another user chose a different input they could essentially raise the volume to whatever maximum value you set in the Denon. Hi Chris, I may well be the odd one out here but for all of its clumsy behaviour I actually really like having the two volumes adjusting together. If the amp volume is going to need to be set initially at my desired highest level (5db for example) it means that there is a 5db bomb waiting to explode should someone else select a different input for zone 2 without me having first turned it off. Currently I alway turn the volume down to a reasonable level unless I am listening intently to something so the amp is usually back down at 65%, or there about, when I leave it unattended. I agree with Chris. If you are determined to use variable player output (against our recommendations), you should set the Quick Select volume to the dB level you want it to be when you increase the analog player volume to 100%, which I would expect to be much higher than the 27dB that you are using now. With the player output fixed at 100% on my system, I routinely listen at levels of around 50dB. I understand that the number will vary depending on things like the efficiency of your speakers, but 27dB still seems way too low. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin
madpatrick wrote: > Variable volume setting OK. Right now with the new version we are doing nothing with the volume other than asking the Denon to set the Quick Select option if you so indicated, which would have a stored volume. Then the player is completely responsible for adjusting the output of the analog signal. And the problem you are seeing, which is adverted by setting the player to 100% fixed, is that the Denon now has a fixed volume and the player is sending some portion of the maximum volume of a track to the Denon. So you are getting two attenuations. I am not sure what we could do to help you. We can detect what the maximum volume of the Denon is, even though we currently ask you to set that in Settings. We can also detect what the current volume of the Denon is. And of course we know what the volume % of the Squeezebox is too. But you are now artificially confined to a new maximum setting, whatever the volume is on the Denon. I might not fully understand what you would like to have done. Ultimately you are going to be confined by the Denon's volume in our current implementation. So if the Denon's volume is at 50% and your player is at 50% your actual track volume is 25% of the capacity it can be. I would assume that in analog mode you would set your Quick Select to the loudest volume level you ever want to play from the Squeezebox and then use the Squeezebox volume control (or client) to send a % of that to the Denon. That's what the "nextWindow => 'refresh'" value would be for. It tells the client to re-request the menu to refresh it. I was going to ask how I would know to refresh. Is this "nextWindow => 'refresh'" passed with the search results? Can someone post the JSON RESPs of the search results, and then when clicking on one. Heh... I can't find it in the response. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin
@SamY and I have have posted a new beta for version 4.1 https://github.com/aesculus/denonavpcontrol/blob/master/src/DenonAvpControl_4_1.zip The biggest change in this version is turning off sending volume control functions to the Denon AVP/AVR if you are not using the 100% Fixed Volume output setting in your player. This was causing two levels of volume control. In this version, if you are using variable output in the player, the plugin will just bypass any commands to alter the amplifier volume. We encourage anyone who can use a digital signal (COAX or SPDIF) to use the 100% fixed volume on the player for the best sound quality. There is one caveat we discovered: DO NOT change the player fixed volume setting while playing a track. On my SB Touch if you change from variable to fixed the player immediately sets the volume to 100% and on the player UI, you cannot change the volume. You could potentially damage your ears or speakers. @SamY is trying to see if LMS can be "fixed" to remove this issue. But for now just make sure you are not playing a track and/or have your amp off when you make this change in the player. Five accounts, five independent streams. . I dont specifically stop one spotify before starting the other. I will try that and report if that helps. Spotify will stop it for you :-) ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] is there a Twitch Plugin?
I would also love having a real Twitch plugin but unfortunately my pearl is way to bad to understand LMS integration and/or knit something like a plugin together on my own . But there are ways to achieve this, so I share my workaround on this: As a prerequisite you need BPA#s HLS plugin which is explained in detail 'here' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?103158-Announce-PlayHLS-Plugin-plugin-to-play-Apple-HLS-m3u8-stream) Instead of livestreamer I'd recommend the usage of youtube-dl binary which is easy to install and imho without dependencies to grab the audio URL. Install youtube-dl on the same box your LMS is running: Code: wget -O - https://yt-dl.org/downloads/latest/youtube-dl | sudo tee /usr/local/bin/youtube-dl >/dev/null sudo chmod a+x /usr/local/bin/youtube-dl Now you can run a one liner to play your stream by executing this command on the box your LMS is running on (please replace ZZ with your desired Twitch user, you want to listen to and those XX with the MAC-adress of your squeezebox player you want to listen the stream on): Code: URL=$(/usr/local/bin/youtube-dl -f audio_only --get-url https://www.twitch.tv/ZZ | sed 's/.\{5\}$//') | curl -s "http://127.0.0.1:9000/status.html?p0=playlist=play=00:04:20:XX:XX:XX="$URL"; Hope this helps Rasputin_GY's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68369 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113995 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Hi, first thanks to all, what a great community to keep LMS running and adding Material Skin as interface. I've just encountered a small problem, and some searching didn't find me any solutions so unfortunately I'm afraid I have to ask for some help. I'm running LMS 8.1.2 from 16 april Material Skin 2.4.2 Deezer 1.0 It seems Deezer has disappeared from apps in Material Skin. If I search using 'Deezer' I can see my saved playlists. Also if I search an artist I see the results in my local files, and see the option 'Search on Deezer'. But when I then click on the Deezer results nothing happens, I can only start playing the 'smart radio' option for that artist (some kind of playlist). I had no issues before, I could access Deezer through apps and search, play etc. I can't pinpoint when the issue started, but I believe after upgrading to the latest material skin. Also in the classic LMS interface the Deezer app is still fully functional. So it all leads my to believe that something went wrong in Material Skin. Any tips how to resolve. And apologies if this issue has popped up before I just could't find anything on it. bolle's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70129 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
