Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] SuperDateTime Screensaver v5.11.0 - Date/Time/Weather/Sports/Stocks
The last observation time from the PWS might be helpful, I think, as a local time. But it might be even better if a switch between the observation and refresh time were possible. An extra setting field for the time of data refresh at startup is not necessary for me, I was just curious why it was gone. But as you say it was in @tcuttings version of SDT, I recalled. I think the LMS delay on refreshing weather data in my first setup is due to the network where LMS is searching for the players and has trouble finding the synced Transporter and Pi over powerline. Recently I added new equipment and since then it takes much longer for LMS to get the first weather data. Playing music is no problem, it starts instantly. LMS on my other Pi in a better network works very well, new weather data are shown about 15 seconds after restart. Thank you for explanations and help. 3xPi3B-7" | pCP 7.0.1 | LMS 8.2.1 | Transporter | 2xTouch | 2xClassic | 2xBoom | 2xRadio | iPeng [Discarded: 2xOdroid U3+m2p+LMS] bluetdi's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20633 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112122 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Do you want the time from your LMS server when the refresh was completed? Or the observation time from your weather station? It appears as shown below in the JSON file. "obsTimeUtc": "2022-02-09T23:40:30Z", "obsTimeLocal": "2022-02-09 17:40:30", > BTW: SDT now takes up to 10 minutes before showing first data after > re/starting LMS. A few updates before it took not more than a minute. > Did you change the startuptime? Navigate to "Extras->SuperDateTime" after restarting LMS and see if SDT data shows up. I actually shortened the time that SDT waits before calling "sub duetCheck" from 90 seconds to 5 seconds. It does the initial data refresh right after this. Your system might be taking longer than 5 seconds to detect players. > Also there was a field in LMS where I could define a 30 seconds data > refresh at startup, that field is gone now. You must be referring to a setting in @tcutting's Wunderground version of SDT. The weather.com version of SDT never had this setting. I can look at adding this setting in a future release. It was connected via ethernet. Set up on same pi3b. As this produces the same outcome, then it suggests something wrong with the pi or the drive. I'll set up another LMS on a second win10 pc and try the drive on that... That's the only way I can think how to test the drive. How do I run dmesg - from rpi terminal? I have now connected a radio to my pi3B PCP LMS system. It all works and there is very little delay. The buffering number is the amount of data in the player - this seems to imply the Radio is part of the problem - only 11% of data got to the Radio. I'm guessing not enough data in buffer to trigger playback. So either 1. CD drive is very slow 2. Network connection to Radio is poor. I'm assuming you have been able to play flac file on your radio without any issue - in which case it comes back to the CD drive. Can you get a log of player.source set to INFO playing a track - I want to see how long it takes for buffer to fill up - please do NOT terminate until at least 3 minutes. Have you tried the CD drive plugged into a USB powered hub rather than the Pi ? CD drive can be hogs and I know Pi3 USB can have difficulties with CD drives plugged directly into the RPi USB ports. Previously I have done tests and in those cases other USB device (e.g. memory stick) dropped off when the CD drive was in operation. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
More mystery... I set up a new server. Installed the cddcwav extension and plugin. Radio as player. Track 1 shows as playing via the Web gui. On the radio itself, the now playing screen shows the artwork and a buffering line which is seemingly stuck at 11% I need to revert back to the original server and physically check the actual radio screen (it's in another room) to see if that also shows the buffering percentage. Restarted original server using radio. The now playing screen also shows 11% buffering. Webgui shows track as playing. castalla's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15624 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi xetroV, I had a similar issue with my C10, and user SteveShort found a solution. There is a delay to go into the CDplayer menu as CD TOC has to be read Also when a track is played there is a delay as CD has to be started up. These are the only delays the CDplayer is involved. I don't know what else you mean by "gui items" Code: I notice this line in the log (in red) 17:03:38.5070] Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::getConvertCommand2 (490) Error: Didn't find any command matches for type: cdplay Is this relevant? 17:03:38.5070] Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::getConvertCommand2 (490) Error: Didn't find any command matches for type: cdplay Without context it is impossible to say. The transcoding process looks for many command matches, some will fail - the command matches are carried out in parallel so some failures will occur after the successful match. Only when all matches are tested and have results, will LMS look for best successful match. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

castalla wrote: > I think the reset is when I stopped playback by clearing the queue. > > Will try the command line. OK so, the command line with cdda2wav works. I expect the flac also works since it is bundeled with PCP and totally standard. Code: /usr/local/slimserver/Bin/armhf-linux/flac -h The following is my log - it only take 5 secs between starting to play and buffer being filled. There is something different in your setup. Can you give me timings on "sluggish" - if it is more than 10 secs then maybe the issues is the CD drive. Need to think a bit. Please zip the opml files if there are problems, such as If you go into cdplayer "album title" and you do not get a list of track and you cannot play track 1. When you go into CD player - CD drive has to read TOC. When you play a track - CD drive has to get to the track and spin up the disk and start reading. These actions take time - maybe 5 secs. If you resize the queue portion on the desktoplayout you will see it appear and dissapear. Likewise if you use the mobile layou ton a PC an dresize the window you will see the same. On most mobile devices the width is too narrow for lots of buttons, and so is moved into the menu. *Material debug:* 1. Julf wrote: > I am pretty happy after switching to Deezer (and thanks for everyone > here who helped me get the LMS integration working!). I used to be with Deezer before moving to Spotify ages ago. I liked it a lot and there seemed to be less licencing issues. The issue for me was that there were quite severe limitations on playlist size. 2000 v 1 on Spotify. I am a bit weird I know but most of the time (ie when I'm not listening to classical music) I like to mix up my library which is about 25000 songs. I got rid of most of my CDs and have a small number of things ripped locally that are not available on the streaming service, but 99% of listening is from Spotify. I am yet to find a way of randomising my library so I keep it in around 5 playlists; to work around the 10,000 song limit. From time to time I export everything using an extension - exportify, and do the randomisation in excel and then copy a chunk (3000 songs or so) of the mixed up songs back into Spotify. I can't find an alternative streaming service that allows for this export import so I get my properly randomised music. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
JUst checked code for both infobrowser and CDplayer. When trying to write OMPL files - the plugins behave as follows If LMS "playlistdir" directory exists and OPML file can be written to it - it is written out. OTHERWISE OPML file will be written into LMS "cachedir" - if that fails - a log message is logged. So the OPML file on your system are probably in the cachedir - which on PCP is probably /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/slimserver/Cache bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] SuperDateTime Screensaver v5.11.0 - Date/Time/Weather/Sports/Stocks
Is it possible to show the time of the last data refresh? It would help me to see issues with my PWS. BTW: SDT now takes up to 10 minutes before showing first data after re/starting LMS. A few updates before it took not more than a minute. Did you change the startuptime? Also there was a field in LMS where I could define a 30 seconds data refresh at startup, that field is gone now. 3xPi3B-7" | pCP 7.0.1 | LMS 8.2.1 | Transporter | 2xTouch | 2xClassic | 2xBoom | 2xRadio | iPeng [Discarded: 2xOdroid U3+m2p+LMS] bluetdi's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20633 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112122 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
