Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.5.x - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-10-31 Thread chn68b

I'm trying to get this working on my server running WHS 2011.

When I go into the Spotty settings I'm unable to add my account, "There
has been a problem running the Spotty helper application. Please make
sure you have the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime (32-bit!) installed on
your system."

I've clicked on the link and installed Visual C++ Redistributable for
Visual Studio 2015? but there's no difference.

I'm going to install LMS on to my windows laptop as a temporary test

[SlimDevices: Plugins] My Apps

2012-03-31 Thread chn68b

What on earth am I doing wrong here?

I've had the squeezebox for a few years now and never had this issue
before. I had assumed that the problem was vortexbox but I've since
installed a new version and the problem remains.

If I use the Squeezebox radio and connect to mysqueezebox rather than
my Vortexbox I can access myapps no problem, however, when I connect to
my home library (the vortexbox server) myapps is now empty.

I've added the username and password, confirmed it but its just not
playing ball and been like this for a few weeks now.

What on earth has happened?

I can't be quite sure, but I think this problem may have occurred since

When you add the password to the mysqueezebox page in settings, if the

What I've done so far:

Added manual DNS of the router address
Restarted the vortexbox, tested, failed so
restarted the squeezebox service via Extras and server power control.
again failed.

Added ISP's DNS
Restarted the vortexbox, tested, failed so
restarted the squeezebox service via Extras and server power control.
again failed.

Left the DNS blank
Restarted the vortexbox, tested, failed so
restarted the squeezebox service via Extras and server power control.
again failed.

I've also powered everything down and off for a few minutes.

Internet radio works (I'm listening to the bbciplayer now) but its not
linking into my apps on mysqueezebox.

I've added the username and password a few times now, I've also added
an incorrect username and password in the hope this might clear
something.

Yes, I just set the sb-radio to to connect to mysqueezebox and it
worked fine, including napster, so the problem looks to be with
Vortexbox.

I'm running version 1.10 at the moment and see that there is a new

real pain as the backup will take ages.

its listed with Alien BBC (v2.4a4-7.3).

Right, found that cheers. Still no joy though, no sound still.

What I've done so far:

Switched off Squeezecenter.

Deleted the original and outdated AlienBBC.

Restarted Squeezecenter.

Used Extension Downloader (v0.1) to update AlienBBC to Alien BBC
(v2.4a4-7.3).

Shut down and restarted Squeezecenter.

Check the location of AlienBBC, it has 2 listed:

No I haven't. I'll do a search now, thought that the correct mplayer
was already installed?

Thanks

The patches are all because of Freenas limitations compared to Linux.
Some NAS with similar limitations have to apply similar patches.

By the look of things the patch required is simply the change to the
custom-convert.conf file as detailed below, which I've already done?
mplayer included with SlimNAS (which is on the FreeNas) is patched to
output the stream to stdout, and then the change I've done above.

The custom-convert.conf filelooks like it is missing all the new conf
 directives associated with erach conversion.

Example below - the addiotnal line is in red

Code:

   rtsp wav * *
   # R
[mplayer] -really-quiet -vc null -vo null -bandwidth 1000 -cache 128
-af volume=0,resample=44100:0:1,channels=2 -ao pcm:nowaveheader:file=#PIPE#
$FILE$

So its not as easy as just adding this line to my file, or is there
more missing? I've been reading numerous pages and been through 3 or 4
versions of linux this week and still unsuccessful with a number of
things, this included.

I copied the wrong conf file in the previous post but the issue about
the text in red is still correct.

When you patch files - you patch the changes and leave additions
 /deletions alone.

In this case - take the custom-convert.conf of the installed AlienBBC
as the basis and just change the mplayer lines as some spaceing in the
 new lines is very critical.

So your changes to the official custom-sonvert.conf should be something
 like the following.
all mplayer.sh shoudl be changed to mplayer and any line with
 -ao pcm:nowaveheader:file=/dev/fd/3 $FILE$
 or
 -ao pcm:file=/dev/fd/3 $FILE$

 should be changed into
 -ao pcm:nowaveheader:file=- $FILE$ 2/dev/null

There could be an issue if you are using RTSP-MP3 - you may or may not
need the -x after [lame] depending on which version of lame is
 installed.

many thanks for taking the time to post. I'll give this a go.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts

2009-02-07 Thread chn68b

Just a quick note incase anyone else is having any problems with this,
but I've just gone through the settings via the squeezecenter webpage
and changed a few. Its now working, and my settings are:

Weather Units: Metric
City: enter my nearest, Cardiff.
Wunderground.com Citycode: BLANK
Fetch Interval (seconds): BLANK
Time/Date format: Time and date
Third line: Wind
Wind info units: Miles per hour

May be a coincidence, but it worked straight away after I changed some
of the settings I had so I'm pretty sure it was a display issue. Maybe
the settings before couldn't display the amount of info required?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts

2009-02-06 Thread chn68b

I've not had any forecast on this now since installing it a week ago so
I'm thinking something is wrong.

It goes through the motions of searching weatherunderground but always
ends up with a ? no forecast available.

Anyone else having this?
