I updated my Pi4 Bullseye and the libc version changed so I thought I would need to install a new i386 version. Apparently the change wasn't enough to require a new version. If anyone updates a Bullseye installation, note that the lib6c armhf version is changed so you need to reinstall the i386 version. Thanks to trials from slartibartfast, it's working.I took up the frankd tutorial for this new version and I noted what I did -The libc6:i386 Deb Package needs to be modified to match the version of its Raspbian equivalent (which has an additional +rpi1)- Check the current libc6 version of the Raspberry: dpkg -s libc6:armhf It's Version: 2.31-13+rpt2+rpi1 - Find the equivalent version of the i386 libc Debian package from https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/i386/libc6- libc6 (2.31-13+deb11u2) //Adapt the lines below with the current version:// cd ~ wget http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/glibc/libc6_2.31-13+deb11u2_i386.deb mkdir -p newpack oldpack/DEBIAN dpkg-deb -x libc6_2.31-13+deb11u2_i386.deb oldpack/ dpkg-deb -e libc6_2.31-13+deb11u2_i386.deb oldpack/DEBIAN nano oldpack/DEBIAN/control - Set the version line to the Rasbian version (2.31-13+rpt2+rpi1) - Version:2.31-13+rpt2+rpi1 -and remove the dependency of libgcc-s1, libcrypt1and ; remove line- Depends: libgcc-s1, libcrypt1 save the file rm oldpack/usr/share/doc/libc6/changelog.Debian.gz nano oldpack/DEBIAN/md5sums -Remove the line with the MD5 Sums for changelog.Debian.gz- dpkg-deb -Z xz -b oldpack/ newpack/ -The new package is now in the subfolder newpack, with the name of the new version (e.g. libc6_2.31-13+rpt2+rpi1_i386.deb)- //Install the new package:// sudo dpkg -i newpack/libc6_2.31-13+rpt2+rpi1_i386.deb Everything wents fine, but LMS is very long to start, about 15 to 20 min (I have 22K tracks), as it used to take a few minutes. MusicIp seems to be working fine, but it also seems to use more memory than before. At some moment, during a library scan, musicip used all the free memory including the swap, so the rpi was not responding anymore. I'm just trying a few things now until someone has an idea. I'm starting to disable the swap, because I didn't have any previously and set musicip to start at boot as before, and see what happens. The multicast warnings are not a problem, this is a known limitation of old QEMU versions and it worked in the past despite of the warnings. It seems to be the bus error - this is very cryptic, in particular as it happens when you open the web page. 2 ideas CypherMK: Did you try to open the webpage with another browser (e.g. firefox, chrome, edge?) Maybe some strange request kills the MusicIP webserver component? I guess you need to have the webpage opened to scan for your files and create the database. But what happens if you start the MusicIP server, then you start or re-start LMS with the MusicIP plugin active - does it connected to your MusicIP server and does the server crash as well while LMS connects? frankd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52885 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

MIPMixer also allows you to specify the hostname MIP is running on. I analyze on a linux laptop (saving results to MIP's db file), but run MIP on a Pi4 with LMS. Hence my MIP paths are different to LMS, and also my MIP has entries for 'xxx.m4a.mp3' files - as MIP on Linux cannot handle m4a, so I create temp .m4a.mp3 files for MIP to use - and my plugin handles this xxx.m4a.mp3 <-> xxx.m4a conversion as well. *Material debug:* 1. Because of a new version of Kodi, I tried to install the latest version of OSMC. Also tried installing Musicip again, but ran into a new issue. When I run this command: Code: /home/osmc/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer start The server starts. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
For anybody like me with a "slight" gap in Linux knowledge that encounters the same issue. Last week (on a max2play image) after doing a sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade. As a result libc-dev-bin_2.28-10+rpt2+rpi1_armhf.deb got installed. As a result Musicip was not working anymore. However, this I had done on my Win machine and based on MIP v1.9b6. Rescanning using v1.8.1 (on Windows), overwriting the results in the tags, and then copying the mp3s to the Raspberry, the headless server recognized all 20k tracks in a few minutes as mixable. When I did this using the stored results of v1.9b6 MIP didn't recognize anything, so it seems there is a difference in the analysis algorithm. I don't understand the behavior, though: I previously had scanned the tracks with both v1.9b6 and v1.8.1 and compared the results of the tags--both were identical. I also had deleted the old default.m3lib, so that might also have had an influence. Anyways, it works now. It seems that your music analysis of the tracks (fingerprint) has not been archived within the tracks (when analyzing with windows MusicIP). Therefore the headless server wants to re-analyze these tracks again which will take ages. Your track need to contain the MusicIP fingerprint, see https://www.spicefly.com/article.php?page=mp3tag-show-musicip-fingerprints-mp3 for explanations frankd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52885 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

First off, thanks for you quick responses, I do appreciate this. If I try to not import the database, the headless MIP on the Raspberry Pi 3 crashes (probably runs out of memory) before even analyzing one track. E.g. of the 100 test files I copied over, it recognizes 5 files and then gives me the "validating, 95 remaining..." message--but this counter never decreases. kinoimkeller's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=24972 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Are you sure that the fingerprints are archived in the files - "Archive Analysis" (use MP3 Tag to look if there is a fingerprint in a comment field of the tracks). Also - how long does the the analysis take per track when you rescan with a raspberry pi? I am pretty sure the problem is the database when copying or the lack of embedded fingerprints (You need to "archive Analysis" after archiving the tracks in windows, otherwise the fingerprint will not be embedded - files will be modified with a comment tag and the fingerprint). frankd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52885 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

You should scan and embed the fingerprint into the tracks via Windows (that's the time consuming part) but you should not copy the m3lib library to your raspberry (different path). Instead let the musicIP sever of the Raspberry scan and create a new library - if it finds the embedded fingerprints, scanning should be very reasonable and fast and the library will be created withing few minutes. Sugacube can handle different paths, but only when the MusicIP server runs on a different machine. Hi all, I'm trying in vain to get MusicIP working with LMS on a Max2Play installation on a Pi 3. - I followed the instructions to the point in the first post. - I can run MIP in headless mode using the replacement interface (everything standard, e.g. port 10002 etc.). - I successfully imported a default.m3lib generated on a Win 1.8.1 installation (for 100 test files). - I can generate a mix from the headless interface for this library. - I activated the MusicIP plugin in the LMS. All other plugins I deactivated to avoid any collisions. - I did a full wipe and rescan of my DB in LMS. - I started MusicMagicServer and after that re-started LMS so that it would recognize MIP to be running. BUT: When selecting in LMS the details of one of the tracks which showed up as mixable in step #4, there is not the usual option to generate a mix based on this track. What am i doing wrong? I followed your very good instructions and made myself familiar with how MusicIP works. After setting up the server on my Raspberry Pi with Max2Play and scanning my library for three days and nights straight on two machines everythings works uncannily smooth. Thanks a lot for this guide! I find it amazing that a piece of abandonware that's more than a decade old still works so well. Some things I found out during the process that might be helpful for others: - At first I got a lot of "Unanalyzeable" tracks. After stripping the mp3s of all tags but ID3v1 and ID3v2.3 (!), that number dropped drastically - Characters that are illegal under windows in the filename are a problem (I'm on a Mac) - MusicIP 1.9 works just fine with Wine under MacOS Mojave. It's actually hell of a lot faster with analyzing the files than my windows machine. - Analyzing too many files at once might slow down the process. I am not sure of this, bit it felt slower when I selected more than 4000 files. - Newer m4a files are unrecognizable for MusicIP analysis. I converted them to mp3, analyzed them and copied the tags back to the m4as. Now they are available for mixing. I also have a suggestion: I'm using Spicefly Sugarcube. Can you create mixes via the webinterface on port 10002 or start other commands there? I guess your server is working, other users reported this failure message before, see page 3, while the server was working for them. The server is not sent to the background, therefore your terminal is blocked, that is normal as well and you have to kill the server or close the terminal to stop it. Actually I realized that when updating the instructions I lost the installation of the binfmt. Thus instead of "sudo apt-get install qemu" It should be "sudo apt-get install qemu binfmt-support qemu-user". The first page is updated and this problem should not re-occur frankd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52885 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Not a command, I registered it and rebooted. Also made a extra delay for starting as described. But when starting dynamic mix and reading the logs it showed access denied for port 10002. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
Well, checked all the steps but couldn't find something. After the start command I now only get the Protocol not available. After that the terminal session hangs. -Starting server on port 10002 Unsupported setsockopt level=0 optname=32 setsockopt - IP_MULTICAST_IF: Protocol not available- MusicMagicServer is available and scans my library. So far it's working but I'm not sure if it's possible to autostart the server with the mmserver file. Will try. mvn2009's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33172 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
I'm installing this on a Raspberry Pi4 4Gb buster installation. Followed the instructions in the first post and everything went well until I tried to start MusicMagicServer: pi@max2play:~ $ /home/pi/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer start -bash: /home/pi/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error I saw the other post on this issue (but it is on a different installation) and followed the suggestions but nothing changed the above outcome. Did install MusicIP with a direct download and extracting within Linux. I'm fresh at Linux so I run out of options here. Anybody a suggestion what could be the cause of this error? mvn2009's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33172 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
I'm trying to get this working on an aarch64 based system. I've got to the point I can run MusicMagicServer but it crashes; Code: # /data/musicip/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer MusicIP Server 1.8 Copyright (C) 2006-2007 MusicIP Corporation Usage: MusicIPServer [options] start MusicIPServer stop Options: -help Show help message -verbose Log verbose info For more docs, see http://mixer.musicip.com/server # /data/musicip/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer start Starting server on port 10002 qemu: uncaught target signal 11 (Segmentation fault) - core dumped Segmentation fault # qemu-i386 /data/musicip/MusicIP/MusicMagicMixer/MusicMagicServer start Starting server on port 10002 Unsupported setsockopt level=0 optname=32 setsockopt - IP_MULTICAST_IF: Protocol not available qemu: uncaught target signal 11 (Segmentation fault) - core dumped Segmentation fault Not sure what to try next. In case anyone's interested this is Ubunbtu 20.04 on and Odroid N2 and these are the commands I've used to get it to this stage. Code: dpkg --add-architecture i386 apt install qemu apt install qemu-user apt update wget http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/g/glibc/libc6-i386_2.31-0ubuntu9_amd64.deb mkdir files dpkg-deb -x libc6-i386_2.31-0ubuntu9_amd64.deb files cd files/lib32 mkdir /lib/i386 cp * /lib/i386 cd /lib ln -s i386/ld-linux.so.2 ld-linux.so.2 ln -s i386/libpthread.so.0 libpthread.so.0 ln -s i386/libc.so.6 libc.so.6 sparkyuk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70716 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

So I suppose the libraries are still broken. Either I'll do a fresh set-up the whole thing, or I'll do what you said and purge the stuff and try again. If I run into problems, I'll be back. For 2) can you check if /var/lib/dpkg/arch contains arm and i386? and that this is true: You have to edit your /etc/apt/sources.list file and every file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d, adding [arch=armhf] behind each occurence of deb For 1) you can remove the old package by apt-get purge ".*:i386 frankd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52885 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
