I didn't pay much attention to the Logitech app and protocol handler
because Michael was saying at the outset that they weren't going to work
with the SB Classic, which is what I've always used.
That's still true. But you can install the "Spotify Protocol Handler"
plugin - which is basically

I'm interested in what LMS version people are running. It seems that
changing the protocol to HTTPS fixes a problem for some people, but this
will only work for people on LMS 7.9+ (earlier versions lack the HTTPS
protocol library). I'm curious:
- who here is on 7.9+ and has the plugin
*pippin / mherger* Spotify & plugins all now installed, and working
flawlessly on all players, old and new. Thank you both - and other's
who've replied - for your patience and help. (It's a while since I've
used the forums, and it's lovely to be reminded of how generous and
supportive folk are

Super - no more https notes in the log and the pictures are back!
Tested on all menu options. *Thank you!*
One last thing ... Seen this in 1.5.2 before guess it is an encoding
problem at the source seems to occur near the end

Sure. No worries. Sorry for the mistake.

Thanks for looking into it - Keeping up with all the tweaks that are
being made is a mammoth task!

I've just set up the Official Spotify app and the relevant plugins
(including SPH), and all appeared to be working well. But when I tried
using iPeng and streaming to an SB3 (SB Classic), the Spotify stream
stopped after 7 seconds every time I tried to play it.
I used the fix suggested in the

Ah, thanks for that! (I guess I'd have been digging around in Settings
for an hour, wondering why Spotify still wasn't working!)

We'll always play
Attached is replacement file for BBCiPlayerExtra with quick fixes.
1. It ignores the https transfer format for the moment as there are
equivalent http streams.
2. Add in http before the icon URL - hopefully fix for image issue
(although 1.9.5 still shows image for me).
3. Possible error where
I dropped a mail to synology support to know if they could fix it and
when, and make sure they "loose" the 0.93 audio scan forever...
They answered it is developped by a third party and do not support
it...
So do you know who packages the synology package of LMS?
Publisher reads Synology Inc. ...

Thanks very much for replying here, Michael. I've just been working my
way through the long thread on the Spotify plugin to find out
Thanks for all your help.
I finally managed to solve my issue it by
- starting the service in delayed mode (automatisch (verzögerter
Start))
- reducing the standard delay time of 120 seconds by adding a DWORD
(32-Bit) parameter to the windows registry key
Mmm... Using iPeng and streaming to an SB3 (SB Classic), the Spotify
stream stops after 7 seconds.
I used the fix suggested in this post - setting the streaming method to
'Proxied Streaming':
Synology packages it, I ran into the same response with them in late
2014 (I found the email to confirm)
I had replied:
"Logitech has never made a Synology package. Synology has always taken
the appropriate ARM release tar balls from the Logitech website &
created the package."

I already have a Weather screensaver on all my SB devices but it does
not show up as an "Active Plugin" in LMS. I must have installed this
via the hardware, i.e. "Settings" > "Advanced" > "Applet". Is this
"repo" version different or any advantage? Thanks.

I finally found a LIRC file for my Denon amplifier and installed it on
my Netgear Readnas Ultra 4 which is running 7.9. It will send out the
correct signals but only now and then. About one out of ten keypresses
on the Touch remote will make the amplifier react. I have tried two

Am I correct in my understanding that downloaded songs can't be played
locally by a combination of Squeeze Ctrl and SB Player? You need a
different app for local playback, right?

Yes, that is correct. SB Player is essentially a Squeezebox, it can only
play music streamed

Probably not the Netgear. It works with a NAD amplifier with RS6 remote
