Yes, many times, the long driver (T-15 if I recall correctly) is still
stocked by some tool suppliers, and I have even seen it referred to as a
'Mac cracker' in a recent catalogue!!
Fry's sells it as a Mac Cracker. Typically, none of their staff knows that
they do, in fact, carry it.

I recently got back a Powerbook 520 that I had given away some years
ago. It is in pretty bad shape, with the hinges broken and the screen
completely off. I was looking to repair this machine, simply for the
nostalgic value.

IIRC (from two eeks ago!) a at least system 7.5.2 is needed to boot a 5300.

I have a Mac Powerbook 5300/100 and It won't start up. I also have an
external hard drive with a backup of my system folder and some programs and
I have tried to start it up with that and that won't work ether. it is my
only computer and I need it so I can continue with my studys

suppose no '040 desktops could do USB :)
The 6500's use of USB with 8.1 is truly refreshing. I have a friend that has
a 6400 with 8.5.1, Ill definitely let him know about that option. Thanks for
