Even better, IMHO, than RSyncX, is rsyncbackup. It's not necessarily for the faint of heart, as it requires some geekery to set up. But once it's running it does a great job, especially combined with cron or launchd and over a network. -- Andy Frage

yes, system and library and all. you can make an exact copy of your drive, a fully bootable sparse image. there are only a few (system) files it will not copy which are seemingly recommended by apple not to copy, but nothing that would hinder you to use the backup fully after. Give it a try - I'm
