Davis-Besse has what are called flapper valves installed in floor drains. They
are metal devices installed just a few inches below the grating. The intent of
the installation is flood control but serve to restrict air flow as an
unintended benefit. I can probably dig up some info fo
Roger- North Anna uses backflow preventers in some of our floor drains to
ensure they do not back up and flood the area. An added benefit is they also
provide some control of the air flow as well.

At Palo Verde, many years ago, we did use a type of check value that was placed
in the opening of each drain. We had to remove them due to design configuration
control and that they would affect the operation of the drain system.
