David,

I recently came across a couple of the plastic cups from a San Diego
DevCon with the sand and
stuff in bottom. I wonder how much they are worth?

The sand cups are cool and were from the year we were at the Swan in
DisneyWorld. I think mine are
still packed away somewhere. A few years back someone posted a request on
CompuServe IIRC looking
for one of the black FoxPro mugs given away with new purchases of FoxPro. I
had an extra one and
sent it to him for free. Not long ago my extra one broke and I wish I had
not let the other one go.
I still have a couple of the white FoxPro mugs and an umbrella.

on the cheap.

I am now in Los Angeles. I keep working on conversions from FoxPro but
the programming flavor of the day just can't deliver. I end up
converting to the latest version of FoxPro. I just retired a FPD 2.6
accounting app. It WAS to be converted to Java but the developers had no
experience with accounting. The project failed so I converted it to VFP

I have worked in FoxBASE to VFP 9. I use it everyday and I can solve a

I have looked under the covers of West Wind. I met Rick at a LA Fox User
group. I worked at CountryWide, they used a Rick's technology to talk to
their various web services!

I have been able to keep my projects limited to desktop apps. It is time
though to move a few things to the web. The only problem is that FoxPro
has become a bad word around here. I have been forced to create COM+
versions of my VFP code. I then create recordsets for Crystal or just
pump XML to other programs.

The latest is a reporting portal. I use a VFP dll to extract data from
the terribly structured SQL data warehouse.

Sounds like it IS time to hit the WEB!

We create the database, and every object in it all the same code generation
run. Well the VB.NET comes first and then the SQL data.

Basically we just crank out via a template all the code to script with.

The sand cups are cool and were from the year we were at the Swan in
DisneyWorld. I think mine are
still packed away somewhere. A few years back someone posted a request on
CompuServe IIRC looking
for one of the black FoxPro mugs given away with new purchases of FoxPro. I had
an extra one and
sent it to him for free. Not long ago my extra one broke and I wish I had not
let the other one go.
I still have a couple of the white FoxPro mugs and an umbrella.

Your are right about the 'sand cups' as I was confused on the DevCons.
They all blend together.

I think I sold them back in the CompuServe days thinking I had a spare.

My sand cup is long gone. I do have the fanny pack from Orlando and
the canvas bag from
Miami. I think my daughter has adopted the Miami surf shirt as her
own. Beyond that, my
 trinkets are sparse.

How much is the 'sand cup' worth to you? 8-)

I really liked the fanny pack to carry a little camera or radio in it.

it may have been San Diego.

I have that sweatshirt, but wore it so much that it picked up
several inevitable coffee stains, so it's retired from usage.

I have my name badge from 12 Fox Devcons, 1 Mid-Atlantic conference,
2 SoCal conferences, 2 FoxTeach conferences, 1 GLGDW, 1 FoxForward,
and 4 PyCons. I also have the binders from most of the early Devcons,
when I thought I would actually use the printed material.

The sand cups are cool and were from the year we were at the Swan in
DisneyWorld. I think mine are still packed away somewhere. A few
years back someone posted a request on CompuServe IIRC looking for
one of the black FoxPro mugs given away with new purchases of FoxPro.
I had an extra one and sent it to him for free. Not long ago my extra
one broke and I wish I had not let the other one go. I still have a
couple of the white FoxPro mugs and an umbrella.

I remember having a few of the white Fox mugs, and I gave one to Cindy at
Whilfest back in 2001??
