Even though you are using 12 I think deleting the preference might work.
I googled this but you should be able to follow the below steps.

Trashing the Pro Tools preferences is a good way to “reset” Pro Tools if
just an extra note. make sure even when using pt prefs trasher, that you empty
the trash before relaunching protools. It may make a difference.

I found this makes things very easy to get the trashing job done.
Bare in mind
From the tracklist table, if you select the track you should be able to press
voiceover shift M and in the same context menu where you could rename a track
you should see the option to split to mono.

can undo, but perhaps not undo them once you've got the changes out of
the undo queue.
