I'd avoid Macfuse like the plaigue! The last time I used it it not only
crashed my drive, but it made it so unusable, that even taking it to a
forensics lab I know of here in the area, they! couldn't even recover the data,
nor repartition/format it for me. Just to see if it was just coencident
I guess that's just the nature of the beast with NTFS. Why do you think I try
avoiding it and starting with Fat32 from the get go, if I have a say in the
matter. Of corse, that won't help you any with a drive that is already well
established. I'm just sayin'...

Well, there is an app called NTFS for Mac, which is about $20, but that's
really the only other thing I can think of.

Just a note of caution about these NTFS drivers for Mac OS and HFS

memory sticks in the event that they're not formatted as FAT32 or
other non-system drives, but a few years experience has lead me to
believe they're best avoided on

Hi, If you do a google search I found several NTFS drivers for the mac
that work well as well as HFSplus drivers for windows so you can try
those I find them very useful when moving files between macs and windows
systems. Nick Gawronski

I was actually about to suggest that. you can buy them in bulk online for not

Factor it into the price quote you give clients.

Yeh, it will read the drive and even import some files into PT, but saving to
it is not an option for this particular drive.

If the mac isn’t allowing you to pen files on the drive you may need to change
or repair permissions. If you want to be able to save or put files on the drive
you will need one of th eNTFS plug in utilities as OS X natively doesn’t
support writing to NTFS drives but should read it fine. Also PT
NTFS won't work well. As mentioned, either reformat or use another drive. Thus
far, I've found most thumb drives to be formatted by default as FAT32 which
works fine with Mac. Given the cost, maybe have the clients spring the $30 for
a 32 GB flash drive?
Not unlike the old days when my clients

ah, ok. There are some apps you can get, Paragon NTFS for mac being the first
that comes to mind. Mac Fuse may also work. These are NTFS filesystem drivers
for the mac which may work, but I don’t recommend using them. They can, at
times, be a little unstable. But perhaps worth a shot.

Oh, another thing is that when I have clients who bring thumb drives in, so
that I can save their projects for them I can’t just reformat their drives each
time and erase all of their stuff on it either, it is a real peda sometimes.

I know I can do that, but I didn’t want to have to back up a TB worth of info
to another drive before I format it. I didn’t know if there was another way to
change it from read only mode.
Thanks anyway though.

I have the VBC, they are beautifully accessible. I think this may be
because they can be used stand-alone instead of having to be used in a
rack.

They are typically a mixed bag.
The VTM is fairly usable not much success with the old VCC and FGX.
The new version of VCC is in VMR if i'm not mistaken. If you create
presets for yourself it is usable.

Hello all,
For those of you that use Slate digital products, how are they as far as
accessibility with PT? I used the VCC and the VTM on windows, but I am
installing them now on my mac to use with pro tools, just was curious as to
what others who use these plugins think of them. Thanks,
Brian
Hi Scott,
agreed!
Since 2001, starting with pt 5.1, I always only have the tracks showing I'm
working on just to be safe! :)
When you group your tracks and use memory locates its a breeze! :)
YMMV

Hey Joe,
Yeah, I can imagine there'd a knack to it with that many tracks
showing. So far I've been using it in combination with being judicious
about what I've got showing and it seems to work well enough as a
quick fix.

The big problem is that this is not a 100% fix. It's dependent on where
the screen is scrolled as you're using page up or down. For example, in
a session with more than 100 tracks you don't know how many times to
press page down in order to rout the mouse let's say to the I/O field.
So, if you
Tried it in both mix and edit windows on a cluttered session this

I'd previously been doing of closing, rebuilding, restarting and
