Cameron - If you got into Heritage, then yeah you should probably give
it a listen. I tried, but haven't really managed to find anything that
gripped me about either record yet. It's not that I dislike light
Opeth, because Damnation was killer. I think it's the kinda 70's
throwback sound that grate
Ooh. Is that new Opeth album finally out? Is it worth buying for
somebody who liked watershed and heritage as well as their heavier
releases?

Oh well, I'll get my dose of heaviness in November. I just got
tickets to see Monuments, Animals as Leaders, and the Devin Townsend
Project. Should be a great night! They should call it the Axe-fx
tour though, since all three bands use them.

Hey Chris,
Hmmm, I've heard it. That's kinda too far in the other direction for
my taste, but it's all subjective.

I know you guys have mentioned discussing making buttons accessible with Slate
plugs and the like,
so here's my question.
If someone somehow labels or defines non automatable buttons such as "Browse,"
or "open," Are we absolutely certain that VO will somehow see it? From what I
gathered when P

Hey Joe,
I'd say yes and no to that. On the one hand, it's bound to be nice to

I completely agree and we get a great live sound which is a selling
point out here. The real shame of it is that we do so much cookie cutter
pop and rock that everything has a deadline of yesterday. Honestly the
pop genre doesn't even care about what a mix sounds like as long as it's

Hi Scott,
As for the ilok?
Thats why I posted the phone # for Slate.
I had them do the ilok while educating them on voiceOver. :)
Yes always get the best drum sound from the start and just enhance when needed
like getting some guys tracks to mix that need the help!
YMMV!

Hey Joe,
I'd say yes and no to that. On the one hand, it's bound to be nice to
fly through getting a decent kit sound and work less. On the other, so
many people are using it, that the sound/feel of uberly processed
slamming drums is starting to wear very thin over here. Same thing

Hi Joe,
It does sound pretty tight!
Its very cool being able to just throw it on an insert and start banging ! so

about slate's site!
I'm glad I said no I'm not wasting any more time and called them up!

Scott, I think you'd really like it so give the demo a spin one day. I
know you're doing a lot of metal and you always get a great drum sound.
Something like this just makes you work much less because you can depend
on it to get you the sound you want. This passed week I found my self

Hey Chuck,
Good to know that you're getting a good response via phone. I confess,
not being in the US I hadn't tried phoning them, but plenty of well
written tweets and emails from here have gone unanswered. Joe and
Chris Smart are actually the only two people I know of who've gotten
responses ele
Hi Joe and all,
Just a heads up! :)
When I went to slates site to grab trigger last Wednesday, on my snow leopard
box and saw it was whacked out I called them and had them do a remote
TeamViewer QuickSupport session.
In the corse of the past 2 days I have made 3 good contacts at slate and

Hi, i wonder if it would be possible to make presets for XLN Audios fantastic
plugin "electric grand"? It's part of the addictive keys thing but one can buy
it for itself. It's one of the best Yamaha CP80-s i've ever heard.

Trigger 2 Platinum is on sale 4 $99 until Labor day. I have
all of the presets and it works natively with PT 11 and AAX. It works
with all versions of PT and is absolutely amazing but my presets are for
version 2 so I don't know if they will work with previous versions but
