Re: Temporarily switch to mono

2016-10-17 Thread TheOreoMonster
While not a plug in this reminds me that the Behringer Monitor2USB monitor
controller may be a useful tool for some on the list. not only does it have a
facility for dropping to mono, but would be a useful and inexpensive way to
send Voiceover and daw audio to the same speakers or headphones without having
to get a septette monitor mixer. Just a suggestion.

Temporarily switch to mono

2016-10-17 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
Guys,

I have a stereo audio track which I'm needing to do some mixing on individually.

I'm trying to determine if there are any phasing issues going on, as I think
there might be.

So, my question is, is there a stocked plugin which comes with PT natively that
is basically like a stereo width plugin? This way I could take it down to 0,
and mix this track totally in mono temporarily? If so, when I open the popup on
one of the inserts, then go to multi-channel plugin sub menu, what then do I
need to look under?

Again, I'm aiming for a stock plugin here, not! for one I gotta install,
although if there isn't one natively, and you all know of one that's freeware,
I'm definitely open then to hearing which one you'd suggest.

Chris.

HI Everyone,

Please do not use the Flo Tools Script I accidentally sent. This will
break some Flo Tools functions.

I meant to send only to Martin to test for his problem.

Sorry for inconvenience.

OK, this is what happens when you work with someone who writes code. They
say it can’t be done and, next thing you know, they figure out a way to do it

OK, this is what happens when you work with someone who writes code. They
say it can’t be done and, next thing you know, they figure out a way to do
it and it’s done. Chi just whipped out a new macro and it’s in beta. Go
figure… :)

Hi John Andre,

It’s one thing to have UI automation read the status and perform the
default action for a control. Pressing a button or toggling, resetting,
etc. is a simple matter. The volume fader has no default action. It must
be interacted with and changed to a desired value. This isn’t possible
with the Inspector. Naturally, we thought of this early on. There might
be a different option but that would be with an entirely different system
not related to Flo Tools. Chi can further clarify.

Would it be possible to have a shortcut in the Flo Inspector to change

shift-option-up and down arrow to change volume and shift-option-left

Hi Slau,

I see your point. I Thought a script maybe somehow could add plus or minus 0.5
or 0.1 to a numeric value… Good to know you have considered it, though.

2016-10-17 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
Just for those wonderring who may have phones like this, Teamtalk is also
available on Android, and works quite darn well with Talkback, for what it's
worth.

I just didn't want those users to be left out not knowing. So yes. It does work
there as well, just in case you're curious.

  Hey Slau,
You can get it to work on the Mac, but it's not as accessible as it is on
Windows.
I find that the iOS version on the iPhone is probably the most usable…

  Hey folks.
Just thought I'd let you all know that a team talk channel has now been
created for proTools folks.
For Mac and windows, go to http://bearwear.dk and download the latest
version.
For iOS and android users, the app is entitled I team talk and can be
found in the respective app stores.
Once installed on any platform, download and unzip the following file.
  https://www.dropbox.com/s/z9n61r15zp3mjh2/ProToolsAccess.zip?dl=1.
I zipped it because some computers want to open it as an HTML document.
Once TeamTalk is installed, this file will automatically launch the
program and put you in the correct channel. For iOS users, you may want to use
a desktop machine to unzip this file and pop it in your dropbox. Then, on iOS,
or android for that matter, run the file from your dropbox folder and it will
launch the app, connect to the server, and put you in the channel.
If anybody has any questions, feel free to hit me up. I hope to see you
guys on the server, and happy chatting.

Isn't that kind of what you're doing with volume using clip gain, or not
exactly.

Panning though? That? I totally agree with.

Guys, this subject has briefly come up a time or two, though it's been

Recently, I was very very fortunate to be given an Alva Satelite Pro 584 80
cell display. Yes, you heard right, donated! Don't ask. It was offered, and I
took it before the person could change their mind. LOL!

Anyway, so, I'm curious. Be it this display, or another one, doesn't
matter, for those of you who own displays, be it stand alones, or be it ones on
a note taker that you sometimes connect to yolur mac as a display, have you all
found really any benefits of using both braille as well as speech output? Are
there things you seem to be able to monitor or keep track of better with having
a display, that without one, you feel it would make your workflow ever so
slightly more difficult? Now that I have a display, and it's not one I'm
borrowing or one that the state could take back or anything, this thing's mine
forever, I'd really like to know how I could maybe put it to use in my music
production, if at all.

I'm thinking about seeing if Hadley School has a braille music corse, but
that's a whole different topic.

Anyway, like I said, I'd be extremely interested in talking with any of you
either on list, off list, via phone, via Skype, e-mail, however you all see
fit. I would just like to see how far I could maybe take this with my display
to further enhance things, if at all. Or, on the contrary, do you all find
that braille with PT more slows you down?

Let me know.

Chris.
