It all seems thoroughly Quantesque,
Still, if it will hardly matter if the results are published as widely as
the last one.

I will be introducing the wrong information in the survey now.

The Survey should of been proof read before being published.

That was all my fault.
When testing the survey I did spot that there should have been an indication
to which was Strongly Agree/Strongly disagree but I forgot to ask Keith to
change this.

The spellings and inconsistencies were also all my fault.

I did try to incorporate the suggestions that had been sent in when it was
initially planned, and each time we do this, hopefully we will get better.

I notice that Keith and Dan have now added a comment to which is Strongly
Agree on the scale and Dilwyn's suggestions on some of my spelling mistakes
have now been corrected.

The reason for the lack of collecting a name or email address was down to the
idea that the results should be available to all and I did not want any
possibility that someone could complain about lack of data protection if they
could be identified.

Any comments about the survey are welcomed as I would like to see it run much
more regularly so everyone can see how we are changing.

I suppose while I am writing I do have a question?
Has anyone produced a virtual machine containing an emulator that could be
moved from machine to machine, OS to OS?

John

Looking through the questionnaire a few new questions came up.

1) What is meant by a QL derivative?
The explanation in my English Dictionaries doesn't tell me how to apply
this to the QL.

2) The QXL is missing from the various hardware lists.

3) There was also a question for most used QLing platform.
Wouldn't it be interesting to know how this compares to say other PC use?
Looking through the list for the second time I could not find this item
again and may have submitted the incomplete survey by mistake, so please
ignore.

3) I could not find a link on the Quanta site for this survey.
So it's now limited to QL-users who have got the link.

How can they ignore it? They don't know which are *yours*.
I too submitted an incomplete survey while browsing just as you did.
There just has to be a 'SUBMIT SURVEY' button at the end.

That combined with the invalid question that does not define 1-5 means I
think that the survey will have to be started again I reckon.
Can I suggest that name/email be asked for at the very least. Also did
the questions have numbers?

If not they should. It is hard to discuss here without that.

I think this was meant to imply 'any other hardware by these companies
not covered elsewhere in this question'

Pity really, the question ended up with some specifics (e.g.
Expandaram, from Miracle and Silicon Express Insider disk interface)
and some generalities. The Silicon Express one was my fault, I went
through the survey in too much of a hurry when asked to take a look at
it, and managed to miss the more general intention of the original
question, I should have just asked to put Silicon Express there
rather than the disk interface reference.

Some issues:

1) you do not take user details, so have no way of checking fro
duplicate entries.

2) The question How do you feel about topics. does not define what
the 1 to 5 scale is so is impossible to answer. I put in all '1's simply
to escape the page.

3) When one answers the question Have you visited the Quanta website
with Yes another question appears, which is something like 'How often
- and includes the item Never!

4) I do not understand the 4 extra items at the bottom of the hardware
list.- it covers some of the earlier hardware.

5) Minerva has two versions - MKI and MKII - you have only one item on
the hardware page.

6) You ask when was the last show you attended. I cannot remember but
you don't allow for this. I entered '' to escape!

7) You ought to say when the last page has been reached. I went through
to check some of the above entering totally dummy data, but entered this
by accident as I had no idea where the end was. so my question 1 is
critical. You really have to ask for the person's details. Clearly you
don't check IP address for duplicates.

8) Astracom modem was designed and sold especially for the QL.

9) I missed it on my dummy checking run, but there is a question about
what mice one uses for the QL, but misses superHermes. I daren't
struggile again through adummy questionnaire again to check (8-)#

10) I think you missed 'relays' off the hardware list. I also don't
remember the Miracle centronics and others interfaces.

I ouight to say how professional it looks. From my experience with the
first survey, I know how hard it is to compile the cgi.

One extra feature that would be great would be to review ones answers,
and then a final click to confirm.
I know I got some questions wrong the first time, and my second foray

Of course with no name there is no way this can be found and deleted.
