Okay, that eliminates those as problems. I get a similar message from
another list I'm on from time to time as well that is a little more
descriptive:

you can blacklist using -r, but you can whitelist
using -a too
I don't recommend using sorbs either... you'll be
whitelisting all the mailservers which don't have proper reverse dns with
them!

Either way, that error was for a remote user. IE not a problem with
your servers.
What probably happened is someone subscribed to this mailing list and
was later deleted from the domain. Since they never unsubscribed, you
get a bounce from their mail server every time a mail is sent to the
That error is the qmail ezmlm telling you that your mail server has
bounced a couple of e-mails. The e-mails in question were retreived by
me using the qmailtoaster-list.get command as specified in the e-mail.
Those mails were mangled beyond readability and come from a user

If the messages were bounced by Jean-Paul's toaster due to badmimetypes or badloadertypes, they'd error with 554 invalid message content and possibly the environment variable REPLY554.If simscan (which calls spamassasin, clamav, etc) rejected the emails, you would get very specific error messages

I got your e-mail.
Read the rest of the thread. I didn't have a full dump of the error.
Now that I have it, I tracked it down and replied.

I'm with you, abe. I turned off DKVERIFY some time ago, figuring I'd wait
'til this got fixed.
I feel the same way about SPF too, as far as it's lack of clarity (and log
messages), although I haven't disabled that (yet).
