Re: [qmailtoaster] Centos 5... auth error

2007-04-20 Thread Domenico Fortunato

Seem to be... solved!
Corrected to 12800.
Thank you, Johannes.

In your opinion
what is the best method to migrate accounting from an old qmail tooaster
without smtp-auth to the new one WITH smtp-auth?
All of users (252) use Firefox as pop3 client and many of them don't
know how to change account properties.

Can I gradually migrate users from the old server to the new one?
Can I redirect users not found on a server to the other server?
Both servers are behind firewall in the same DMZ.

Regards.
Domenico Fortunato.

[qmailtoaster] memory limit in supervise/run on x86_64 systems

2007-04-20 Thread Johannes Weberhofer, Weberhofer GmbH

Hi!

it seems to me, that the default memory limit is a bit small on x86_64 systems;
Domenico Fortunato had recently problems on pop3 authentications; I had very
strange problems some time ago, where specific senders could not deliver mail
to a smtp service; both have been x86_64 systems and both problems could be
solved increasing the memory limit a bit.

Maybe this values defaults should be increased for x86_64 systems.

Regards,
Johannes

Hello I still haven't had a reply to this yet... but I'm not sure how to

thanks in advance.. :)

Thanks for the reply,

I am running the newest version of qmailtoaster on a Fedora Core 6 box,
and I didn't see any kind of errors when I did the install. I used the
information from the qmailtoaster website to complete the installation.
the only thing I didn't do in the installation is I didn't setup the
djbdns and I didn't add any domain keys. and when I do a qmailctl stat
it doesn't show spamd in there. so I am assuming I need to re set that up.

Yes it does. I'm assuming this was a new installation. We'll need some
more info, like OS, version, what steps you followed for installation,
etc. Usually what happens there is you failed some dependencies for
spamassassin so it was not installed.

[qmailtoaster] QMT ISO: Install

Ok, so I downloaded 1.1, cut it to disk.
Read the notes, seems simple enough, install CentOS and when it reboots, it'll
auto start the install using net access.

All I seem to get is a nice new install of CentOS? I don't see any manual
commands I need to enter to start the install once it boots as a new OS nor
does it auto start.

What am I missing?

Re: [qmailtoaster] Problems with gmail and repeating deliveries for qmail-toaster running ezmlm

2007-04-20 Thread Eric Shubes
I'm guessing that the smtp session timed out on the sender's end while the
toaster was auto-expiring the bayes database (can take up to 5 minutes or so
on smaller servers). Try disabling auto-expire and setting up a cron job for
it. Details are in the list archive, if not on the wiki.

When you boot the disk, just hit enter to start the process. Don't pass
any kernel options unless you need them. It should run through the
installation process. The only questions it should ask are what
timezone, root password, and then to configure networking at the end.
Once it reboots (and you removed the CD if needed), it should start the
installation process. Once that's done all you'll get is a logon prompt.

Look at the logs. SMTP logs would probably give you some more info,

and spam_hits of 20 is allot I think.. considering in the spamassassin
config file I have required score of 3 and I had required hits at 5 but
I removed the required hits.

also I used to see in my log for qmail before I installed qmailtoaster
that it would tell me when spamd checked the mail.. but now it is just
saying simscan..

any help is appreciated.

Can anyone give me some ideas of where I should start to
troubleshoot this and stop it from happening. It's starting to

Look at the logs. SMTP logs would probably give you some more info,
unless they're using IMAP. Look at those logs in that case.

I see that it shows simscan running through it.. but I don't see it
saying anything about spamassassin.. it shows clamav and the attach
scanners.. but that is it.. and here is my simcontrol file config..

:clam=yes,spam=yes,spam_hits=20,attach=.src:.bat:.pif:.exe:.cmd:.com

and spam_hits of 20 is allot I think.. considering in the spamassassin
config file I have required score of 3 and I had required hits at 5
but I removed the required hits.

also I used to see in my log for qmail before I installed qmailtoaster
that it would tell me when spamd checked the mail.. but now it is just
saying simscan..

any help is appreciated.

Was this sent from a domain on the same machine as the recipient address?
The score of 20 in the simcontrol file is the number at which the email
will be deleted without being delivered to the user.

this is the main machine config files.. I don't know where to set it up
for the specific domain... I assume that this is controlling all mail
coming through the box..

[qmailtoaster] QMT ISO: Install

2007-04-20 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Someone replied to this but my mailer nuked it. Could you send it again.

Mike

When you boot the disk, just hit enter to start the process. Don't
pass any kernel options unless you need them. It should run through
the installation process. The only questions it should ask are what
timezone, root password, and then to configure networking at the end.
Once it reboots (and you removed the CD if needed), it should start
the installation process. Once that's done all you'll get is a logon
prompt.

In my case, I'm using blade servers which require the ide=nodma option, that's
all.

In my case :)... the regular COS install comes up, so I figured I just install
COS as usual, reboot and QMT takes over from what I can understand of the
docs. That's not the case when I reboot, just a login prompt.

If you put in additional kernel options, it does not load my kickstart
file. Try adding:

ks=cdrom:/ks.cfg

To your boot options and it will work for you. The kickstart config I
have on the disk is what does all the automatic stuff for you.

This is what's being passed bu default:
append ks=cdrom:/ks.cfg initrd=initrd.img acpi=off noapic skipddc

Thanks, I'll give this a try on another server in the next few days.

[qmailtoaster] Sieve? MailFilter? Routing of incoming emails to predetermined folders.

2007-04-20 Thread Francisco Paco Peralta
I am using a groupware solution that has an imap client that allows users to
route incoming email predetermined the folders. It apparently works with Sieve
(I know that is used by Cyrus). We use Courier Is there something
equivalent in our world? A work around perhaps?

Hi Jim,

This looks like a CPAN problem. Now that some time has passed, run the
