What about the current QMT log for this particular bounce? does it
shows the email id (TO field) without any malfunction? Is it providing any
other valuable info about this event?

 Hi Senthil Vel,

Have already went through the links before and
recently. This is not the case of a missing , also, in the issue you
were referring to, the mail had actually reached the queue. In this
case, the mail hadn't been in the queue for long, it was bounced
 straight away.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Issue with qmail-inject!

2010-11-17 Thread senthil vel
Hi,

Faced the same problem long time back.

http://www.mail-archive.com/qmailtoaster-list@qmailtoaster.com/msg18687.html

The cause of fatal:_unable_to_parse_this_line is, some of the spl
characters must be added or removed from the header part which can't parsed
by qmail-inject . I faced the problem due to a missing .

*To:_...@domain.com
*
in that line, was there a _ before the email id?

Analyzing the mail header or log properly for any such characters will be
more helpful. Find at which place the transition occurred. In my case the
problem was due to a MUA.

You're looking at the Windows Daemon Tools. daemontools-toaster is like
SysV Init, sort of. It manages the running qmail processes and restarts them
if there is an error. Think service named restart, but with a checker that
monitors the process and if it dies, restarts it.
qmail-toaster is the actual qmail code, patched and compiled to provide
 SMTP and POP3 service.
control-panel-toaser is the web framework you get when you go to
 http://your-toaster/admin-toaster
vpopmail-toaster is the vpopmail package, which handles the virtual users
and other mailbox functions. vqadmin is a web app that allows you to create,
edit, delete, etc. domains from the vpopmail database. qmailadmin-toaster is
the web interface used to manage a domain - you see this when you go to
 http://your-toaster/qmailadmin

Step 1: Make sure selinux and iptables are not the problem.

[r...@myserver]# getenforce
Disabled

[r...@myserver]# /etc/init.d/iptables stop

(Temporary for testing) then access the /webmail. If selinux is enabled, you
have to disable it or configure it properly.

Step 2: I am doubt on your error_log file belongs to currently configured
http.

[r...@myserver]# lsof -i :80
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPEDEVICE SIZE NODE NAME
httpd 1517 root3u IPv6 235651512 TCP *:http (LISTEN)
httpd 1519 apache3u IPv6 235651512 TCP *:http (LISTEN)

Note the PID belongs to the user Root.
Then,

[r...@myserver]# lsof /var/log/httpd/error_log
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZENODE NAME
httpd 1517 root2w REG8,3 643 3408919 /var/log/httpd/error_log
httpd 1517 root7w REG8,3 643 3408919 /var/log/httpd/error_log
httpd 1519 apache2w REG8,3 643 3408919 /var/log/httpd/error_log

Both the PID must be same in my case its 1517.

Step 3 : If both are ok, open your httpd.conf (/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
by default as per qmailtoaster installation) and search for 'squirrelmail'
to make sure /etc/httpd/conf/squirrelmail.conf is included.

Seems some one is spamming. Any one of your mail account might be
compromised. The server is using port 587 to accept mails from local users?
. /var/log/qmail/submission or /var/log/qmail/smtp will tell the truth.

say for example, search for qeezajtze...@stargate5.com in above mentioned
logs. So that we can get the origination of this mail. If it is using a
local mail id for authentication, reset the password of the mail. Also
remove the mails in queue using qmail-remove.

. /var/log/qmail/submission or /var/log/qmail/smtp will tell the truth.

say for example, search for qeezajtze...@stargate5.com mailto:
qeezajtze...@stargate5.com in above mentioned logs. So that we can get
the origination of this mail. If it is using a local mail id for
authentication, reset the password of the mail. Also remove the mails in
 queue using qmail-remove.

Step 1. #qmailctl queue

it will show the mails in queue. Say for example, i am pasting the output
you have posted in first mail.

select a mail id which is in 'remote' field. for example let us take,
prittyg...@yahoo.com.br. prittyg...@yahoo.com.br

Step 2. Use the grep command to search the mailid we collected in the first
field.

grep -i 'prittyg...@yahoo.com.br' /var/log/qmail/smtp/current

if no results found, check time of the mail in queue (21 Jun 2010 22:45:02)
for this mail. if so check the log file which is having this time stamp. To
do this, go to /var/log/qmail/smtp/

#cd /var/log/qmail/smtp/
#ll or # ls -l

check the log file for appropriate date and time.

If anything does not work,

use,

grep -i 'prittyg...@yahoo.com.br' /var/log/qmail/smtp/*
grep -i 'prittyg...@yahoo.com.br' /var/log/qmail/submission/*

This may take long time and server resource. It will show the log for origin
of the mail.

Re: [qmailtoaster] Re: Attack?

2010-06-22 Thread senthil vel
Hi Eric,

In linux and administration works, there are many paths to a single
destination. Thanks for pointing the smartest way.

Hi Rafael,

cat /var/log/qmail/smtp/* | grep -i prittyg...@yahoo.com.br (empty)

cat /var/log/qmail/submission/* | grep -i prittyg...@yahoo.com.br
(empty)

instead of using 'prittyg...@yahoo.com.br', can you check with some other
mail id which is very recent in the spam queue?

in general, each log file inside /var/log/qmail will grow up to 1Mb by
default and 100 log files will be preserved. So in some busy servers, only
we can find logs for few hours. In your server, what is the oldest log file
in smtp folder?.

Not sure what is going on.. Some other spamdyke gurus may help.

How many mails are there in the queue now?

If the mail queue is still large, use qmail-remove to remove the mails in
the queue. If qmail remove is not installed, please follow this.

 *Install Qmail-Remove*

First you need to download latest version from here
 http://www.linuxmagic.com/opensource/qmail/qmail-remove/ current version
 is Qmail-Remove 0.95

 Download using the following command

 #wget
 http://www.linuxmagic.com/opensource/qmail/qmail-remove/qmail-remove-0.95.tar.gz

Now you have qmail-remove-0.95.tar.gz file and now you need to extract
 using the following command

 #tar -zxvf qmail-remove-0.95.tar.gz

Now you should have qmail-remove-0.95 folder go in to the directory and
 run the following commands

 #make

 #make install

 This will complete the installation.

Now you need to create a directory named “yanked” in the qmail queue
directory you intend to use before using this program.

 #mkdir /var/qmail/queue/yanked

 *Using qmail-remove*

 *Syntax*

 qmail-remove [options]

 *Available options*

-e use extended POSIX regular expressions

 -h, -? this help message

-i search case insensitively [default: case sensitive]

-n limit our search to the first bytes of each file

-p specify the pattern to search for

-q specify the base qmail queue dir [default: /var/qmail/queue]

-r actually remove files, without this we’ll only print them

 -s specify your conf-split value if non-standard [default: 23]

-v increase verbosity (can be used more than once)

-y directory to put files yanked from the queue [default: /yanked]

-X modify timestamp on matching files, to make qmail expire mail is the
number of seconds we want to move the file into the past.specifying a value
of 0 causes this to default to (604800)

-x modify timestamp on matching files, to make qmail expire mail is a
date/time string in the format of output of the “date” program.

 *Examples for qmail-remove*

 To delete mails from Que,

 # qmail-remove -r -p gtre.ac.net http://gtre.ac.net

 324001: yes
 moved mess/0/324001 to yanked/324001.mess
 moved remote/0/324001 to yanked/324001.remote
 moved info/0/324001 to yanked/324001.info http://324001.info

 324024: yes
 moved mess/0/324024 to yanked/324024.mess
 moved remote/0/324024 to yanked/324024.remote
 moved info/0/324024 to yanked/324024.info http://324024.info

This will remove all emails http://www.debianhelp.co.uk/qmailqueue.htm#
in que with “gtre.ac.net http://gtre.ac.net” in it and place it in
 /var/qmail/queue/yanked folder.

In this way we are using qmail-remove, there must be some other smarter
way may be there to use this...

As all the spam mails are having same from address
 anonym...@metalservice.ind.br mailto:anonym...@metalservice.ind.br,
append this mail id to /var/qmail/control/badmailfrom file or
/var/qmail/control/badmailto. This will be a temperarory solution.

qmail-remove looks like a handy tool.

Short of that, you can use qmHandle (part of QTP) to remove messages in the
queue. It can delete messages according to the contents of from, to, or
 subject.

FWIW, I agree that it's likely that a spammer obtained the password to one
of your accounts, and is using it to submit messages. I'm going to butt out
though, and let Senthil help you out. ;)

[qmailtoaster] Procedure to update Clamav

2010-04-16 Thread senthil vel
Dear List,
I am in need to update the clamav toaster. While searching the

first one is

*# rpmbuild --rebuild --with $DIST clamav-toaster-xx.src.rpm
# qmailctl stop
# rpm -e clamav-toaster
# rpm -Uhv /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/$ARCH/clamav-toaster*.rpm
# /var/qmail/bin/simscanmk -g
# qmailctl start*

another one is

cd /tmp/

rpmbuild --rebuild --with cnt40 clamav-toaster-0.96.0-1.3.35.src.rpm
cd /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/
rpm -qa|grep clamav-toaster
qmailctl stop
rpm -e --nodeps clamav-toaster-0.92.1-1.3.17
rpm -Uhv clamav-toaster-*.rpm
freshclam
qmailctl stat

In my server, i have compiled the new package without any problem.
Only confusion is after installing the new rpm, what command to run

[qmailtoaster] Fetch Mail Alternative

2010-01-27 Thread senthil vel
Dear List,

We are using qmailtoaster in two places. Both are working
excellently. One server will be available for the external world. It will
receive all the mails. The local server will fetch mails from the main
server and deliver to the users. Now the number of users are increased
(around 500).
Now the time to complete one cycle of the fetch mail has been
increased. In future, the number of user may increased further. Is there any
possibility to run the fetch mail in multiple instances? or is there any
alternatives can be used for fetch mails? Please provide your suggestions.

Thanks and Regards,

Dear Eric,

Thanks for your suggestion. The thing is the main server is located
in the datacenter. The local server is in our office. We are using the local
server to fetch mails to our outlook (Internet is restricted to all users).
Few users are there, called as roaming users, they will be located in
different geographical location, They will use the main server to download
mails. So that i cant implement this.

  Sure.

I would definitely rebuild any packages that you had built with the

--with fedora_12 parameter, using --with fedora_11 this time. I'm

guessing that the fedora_12 parameter might result in other problems

FWIW, you can use qtp-newmodel to build a new install in place of
  the
current-download and install scripts.

Also, if this will be a production server, a better choice of

would be CentOS 5. Fewer updates, longer lifetime. If you have a

Basically a mail robot is an auto responder for an address that does not

to i...@example.com, the robot would send the text back to the originating
sender, and then drop the original message (I don't believe it saves them
anywhere). Almost the same thing as setting a vacation message, but the
message that the user sent never gets saved anywhere.

Tue Sep 01 09:18:17 2009] [error] [client 1.2.3.4] Premature end of
script headers: index.cgi, referer:
http://mail.mydomain.com/qmailadmin/index.cgi/com/moduser?user=postmasterdom=mydomain.comtime=1251776808moduser=username

But we never changed anything in the index.cgi. But while checking,
the password seems to be reset but the ouput does not reflected in the
browser.

Also this does not seems to be a global problem. Because i can reset
the password to some other mail ids in the same domain.

will deleting the account and recreate it will solve the problem. Is
there any other way to fix the isse. Please advise...

Thanks and Regards,

I faced the same problem a short time back...

1. In my case.. Local (my domain) mail id got compromised. I used port
587 to send mails. So i checked the submission logs and found that
exact user(mail id). Then unplugged him from server(at least reset the
password)..

2. Stop the qmail service...

3. then removed the queue by qmailremove.

What is the mailid jiangsuchemicals1...@yahoo.co.uk ?

Does it really comes from yahoo.co.uk? this can be found from
smtp(/var/log/qmail/smtp) logs or submission logs.

From which ip the spam mails are reaching to the server? Can you block
this ip from tcp.smtp?

If all the spam mails originating as same mail id
jiangsuchemicals1...@yahoo.co.uk, add this to the
/var/qmail/control/badmailto.

Does the spam mails still relayed through your server? or the spam
mails are in queue.

If your user(local) users sned mail via port 587 instead of port 25,
they all need to be authenticated first. It will be more helpful to
prevent spam mails originating from local users itself. Please correct
me if i am wrong..

Dear Ganesh,

Thanks a ton... I really got some new idea regarding the
fetchmail after reading the man page with the help of options provided
by you.

In the beginning i got some problem with the dksign .. I got the following error

SMTP error: 554 qmail-dk: Cannot sign message due to invalid message
syntax. (#5.3.0)

Then i have removed the dksign as per the wiki. Now its working fine.
Now as the qmail-inject does not enter in fetching mail, hope the
problem will not occur again in future.

Thanks again Eric and Ganesh...

The client needs almost all the mails sent to them. So the
primary server has a relaxed chkuser. This cause the main server to
receive such mails. But while using fetch mail, the qmail-inject needs

It will be great even such mails are bounced by the

the mail box of the users.
After reading the man page of the fetchmail, i found 'set no

Let's start over on this. I didn't look closely enough the first time.

The problem is that qmail-inject chokes on a malformed address line. So my
question is, how'd those malformed addresses get received in the first
place? I'm guessing they're all coming from a very limited number of
sources, like probably just a handful at the most, and quite possibly just
one, like a web application perhaps??

 Where are they coming from?
How does the address become mangled?

P.S. I don't think the problem is with fetchmail.

That might do it for you. I don't know fetchmail that well. Give it a try.

When you say 'relaxed chkuser', what do you mean exactly? How'd you relax
it? Perhaps you relaxed it too much when another alternative, such as a
catchall account, would have been more appropriate. I would also look at
 this possibility.

[qmailtoaster] fetchmail:qmail-inject: fatal: unable to parse this line:

2009-08-12 Thread senthil vel
Dear list,

We are using qmail toaster in a local server. ie, fetch mail
will fetch mails from the main server and distribute the mail to the
qmail users. The out ging mails are routed via the main server using
smtproutes.

The problem is, when a mail is having misplaced or improper or
unclosed or unopened or , the rest of the mails also cant fetched.
The fetch mail log tells like that,

fetchmail: 1 message for u...@domain.com at serverip (188763 octets).

qmail-inject: fatal: unable to parse this line:

To: user_\ user@mydomain.com,
@senderdomain.com

fetchmail: reading message user@mydomain@serverip:1 of 1
(188763 octets) (log message incomplete)fetchmail: error writing message
 text
fetchmail: MDA error while fetching from user@mydomain@serverip
fetchmail: Query status=6 (IOERR)

as a temperory solution, we use outlook to directly download the mail
from main server. But this continues for more than 20 users per day.
Is there any way to permanently fix the issue?

Thanks and Regards,
S.Senthilvel,

Thanks Jake and Eric,

Both the servers are QMT. The main server works very best
in all aspects including spam fighting. If we are using rsync instead
of fetchmail, is it enough to sync the
/home/vpopmail/domains/domainname directory? Or we need to look
something more?

This is more of a fetchmail issue than a qmt issue. I don't blame  you for
asking here though. ;) I haven't used fetchmail much, and don't know of a
fix or another workaround off hand.

I feel the urge to ask though, why QMT is on the backend instead of the
front end? QMT with spamdyke is one of the best front ends you can find. It
is even well suited as a front end to MS Exchange (for those who just can't
live without MSE). The only reason I can think of to have your configuration
is that only some of the domain's users are on the QMT system. If that's not
the case, I'd simply direct the MX for the domain to the QMT host (and
 retire the main server).

2009-08-12 Thread senthil vel
Dear Jack and Eric,

Sorry for the delayed response. While looking practical,
rsync is bit complected. Because half of the users are depending only
in the main server (Roaming users). So we must implement directory
level sync (/home/vpopmail/domains/domainname/username). Also the ssh
keys or plain text password cannot be stored in both the servers.
Because the main server is serving for few more domains also.
So i shall search is there any fix in the fetchmail level. If
there is any known fixes or solutions in the fetchmail, please share
with me.

Thanks and Regards,
S.Senthilvel,

I would sync the user's dir, and use the --delete option from rsync to
remove the messages from the initial server on the next sync once the
 user
has them. So you would reverse sync them; initiate the sync on the remote
 machine to the initial machine.

I don't believe this would work. rsync is a one-way deal. Only one side
can be the 'master'. And it doesn't really matter which side it's run on,
only the order that the source/destination are specified in the command is
significant. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

If you run rsync on the remote machine and use the --delete option, any
files that were deleted on the remote machine would be removed from the
initial machine. It's not a 2-way sync, but it will remove the files from
the other server this way after they've been downloaded by the user to keep
 them from getting multiple copies.
So you would be making the remote machine the master, and when the
users downloaded their mail those messages would be removed from the
 slave
machine on the next sync (the slave being the main server and the
 master
 being the local one)
And you are correct as to the order as far as defining the source and
target. It would not matter what machine you ran it on. I would just do it
this way for readability and so that the remote machine is calling the main
 - planning for failure points in the event the remote machine is not always
available (else, why even have a remote machine?)

That I understand. So how do the new messages get to the remote server if
 the remote server's the master?

I thought he had said the remote server was using smtproutes to send
 messages. Did I miss that?

I think he meant outbound from the backend.

Now that you have me actually thinking about this, I suppose you could do a
pull-push rsync (run it two times back to back) from the remote side. This
would only work if the remote users were using pop3 though, not imap. A bit
heavier on the bandwidth than it'd need to be, but it should work.

I still think the best solution is to fix fetchmail though. That shouldn't
 be too difficult to do.

In some systems where we are using old setup, we were facing the same
issue. Ronnie, hope if any modification done in the qmailadmin for
the same user will again bring the problem back. Plz check this. If
the problem does not occur again, its good. If the same thing happens,
use the following quickfix.

cd /home/vpopmail/domains/domainname/username/

mv .qmail .qmail.bak

This will fix the problem for the single user.

I changed 2 of my email address passwords today via qmailadmin and now
both of those accounts get duplicate emails.

Any ideas on how to stop this?

 In my .qmail file

 |/var/qmail/bin/preline /usr/bin/maildrop -A 'Content-Filter:
 maildrop-toaster' /etc/mail/mailfilter
 /home/vpopmail/domains/x/userxx/Maildir

They are on seperate lines.  Email with no problems does not have the
 /home/vpopmail line?

 Running CentOS 5.2 64bit.

 Thank you in advance.

[qmailtoaster] Hiding one email id from the external world

Dear List,

We are using a group mail named as a...@domainname.com. This
is a forward. If a mail sent to this mai lid, all the persons in the
domain will get that mail. Is it possible to hide this email (Forward)
from the external world without using empf patch?. Because if a spam
is sent for the mail id, all the users are getting it. Can we set this
forward to receive only mail from my local domain?

Thanks and Regards,

Depending on the hardware, that should not be that much of a load. Increase
the softlimit (double it) and tune mysql.
I have servers with twice that load that run loads of around 10, but then
again if you're running this on a P3 that will be a bit of a load.
Also tune tcpserver by turning off some un-needed options.

Correct. If you're using the default config file that came with
CentOs/Fedora then it's tuned for machines with around 256M of RAM.
Watch top and see how much of a load mysql is using. Also make sure you have
a caching DNS server installed since DNS lookups can drive the load up as
 well.

Thanks Eric,

Can the output of qmlog redirected to some text file?

I am just trying to do the following,

in /var/log/qmail/send/date, a user will enter the date in 'mmdd'
format from webmin command editor.

Then the following command is executed from the webmin

qmlog -d `cat /var/log/qmail/send/date` send

The output is different than running the same command from cli. Can we
integrate this? If so we can implement the log analyser via webmin
interface.

Further when i tried to redirect the output to some file, it was also
different(Like the output shown in the webmin)

Hmmm. I didn't think anyone would have more than one years worth of logs. I
 think if you do
 # qmlog -d 0528-1231 smtp
you'd get logs for the end of '08.

[qmailtoaster] Sender no check

2009-05-26 Thread senthil vel
Dear List,
My tcp.smtp file is as follows,

127.:allow,RELAYCLIENT=,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private,RBLSMTPD=,NOP0FCHECK=1
:allow,BADMIMETYPE=,BADLOADERTYPE=M,CHKUSER_RCPTLIMIT=150,CHKUSER_WRONGRCPTLIMIT=10,DKSIGN=/var/qmail/control/domainkeys/%/private,NOP0FCHECK=1,SENDER_NOCHECK=1

In the second line SENDER_NOCHECK=1 is there. Will this cause any
security problem (Spoofed mails and junk) ?

Please advise..

Thanks and Regards,

[qmailtoaster] blacklists

2009-05-25 Thread senthil vel
Hi list,

In my /var/qmail/control/blacklists file, it was

-r zen.spamhaus.org

by default.

I tried to add some more rbls like follows...

-r zen.spamhaus.org -r bl.spamcop.net -r list.dsbl.org -r cbl.abuseat.org

I am using opennms to monitor the servers. In that the smtp service is
showing down. The reason is it couldnot connect the SMTP port in the
mentioned time. I can understand the reason. Can any one suggest a
list of RBLs which balances the spamprotection VS the establishment
time?.

And also

Do we need to restart qmail after editing the
/var/qmail/control/blacklists file?

Thanks and Regards,

Not really without actually doing it for you. You'd need to work some logic
that forks a copy of all incoming mail for a user and copy it to another
 folder. Same with the outgoing.

It does this because of the way locals are delivered. They're delivered
using a different method than mail coming from the outside.
There is no other alternative to archiving all mails unless you want to
write some scripts to do what you need.

Easy one. YOu used vqadmin to add a domain (which is broken anyway) and used
it incorrectly. Now you'll need to edit the database for each of the domains
that are not working correctly and change the number of users from the HUGE
 number specified, to 0.
I use phpmyadmin to fix servers for people who have the same issue.

Deleting the domain and recreating it does not clear the database out.
Strange, but I didn't write vpopmail.
I know of no way to change that using vmoddomlimits. You could run mysql
from the command line (using vpopmail and vpopmail's password to access the
vpopmail database) and change the value that way. I do not know how to run
that from the CLI myself; I've always been lazy and performed it using

As far as the man page for vmoddomlimits, I do not think Inter7 wrote one.

You need to change the 2147483644 value for each and every domain that
contains it. Otherwise you're only fixing one domain at a time.
And once you change it to a 0 you should be able to see the domain in
 vqadmin again.

Why not move it to the /home directory and symlink it so you can keep the
 data?
Otherwise I believe you can just delete it. I would suggest moving it
somewhere and then seeing if it causes any adverse effects.

[qmailtoaster] Mails should not reach local domains

2009-03-09 Thread senthil vel
Dear List,
We have planned to migrate one domain from some other server
to qmail toaster. We need to create the mail boxes in advance. But the
mails sent from the domains which are configured in the same server
reaches this mail box. We need to stop this. I have added this domain
via qmailadmin. And removed the domain name from
/var/qmail/control/rcpthosts and /var/qmail/control/virtualdomains.
But the local mails still delivered to the local mail box. I did a
qmailctl cdb. But it did not helps. Am i missing anything. Please
share the ideas. It will be very helpful if i get help earlier.

You probably also need to remove them from the /var/qmail/users/assign file
 as well.
IMHO, it would be easier to compile a list of the users and passwords and
use a script to add them all in when you're ready. Using a script I've added
28 domains and 537 email accounts in about 5 seconds.
Using another script I copied their messages into their folders.
This was a migration for a client from another qmail server (hand-compiled)

What was the reason for bouncing? Can you get any one of that
bounce mails? By default /var/qmail/control/spfbehavior will have
3(reject mode). That may cause the mails to bounce back for the
domains which are not having proper spf records. Try to get one of the
bounced emails. If it is the reason for bounce, make
/var/qmail/control/spfbehavior to 0 or 1. Plz do any changes after
analyzing the reason for bounce.

Thanks and Regards,
S.Senthilvel,

 Dear friends,
I have installed CentOS 5.2 64 bit and installed the qmail toaster. I
observed two problems in the installation.
 1. I am getting mails from most of the domains, but from some domains I am
unable to recive mails. I am able to send messages from my mailserver. In
some domains they are receiving the bounce messages also. I do not know what
is the status with other domains where from the messages are not coming. (I
mean whether they are also getting the bounce messing. Can u pl. let me know
if there is any way to debug? In /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf, I have
incresed the required_score to 15 from 5, but that did not help; only the
mails marked as spam earlier are now delivered to mailbox.

 2. self signed certificate was not generated with the installation and the
certificate was corresponding to localhost and the server name was not
reflected, I tried to generate the certificate for qmail using the
following procedure as per the link given from qmailtoaster wiki. Which file
exactly is reflected in the certicate ? Pl. let me know.

 #cd /etc/pki/tls/certs/
 #make stunnel.pem
 #mv stunnel.pem /var/qmail/control/servercert.pem
 #cd /var/qmail/control
 #chown root:qmail /var/qmail/control/servercert.pem
 #chmod 644 /var/qmail/control/servercert.pem
 #ln -s /var/qmail/control/server.pem /var/qmail/control/clientcert.pem

All went in vain again, since the certificate still shows the
localhost.localdomain . Then the following the following steps for generating
the certificate for the httpd server.
openssl x509 -in servercert.pem -text -noout
but the certificate corresponding to server is not generated.
We visited the following sites for generating the certificate but we could
 not find any solution

 http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Certificate
 http://www.perturb.org/display/entry/754/
 http://www.rapidssl.com/ssl-certificate-support/generate-csr/apache_mod_ssl.htm
 http://www.corserv.com/freebsd/apache-ssl-howto.html

Pl. let me know if there is a solution with self signed certificate.

 Thanking you,

[qmailtoaster] Doubt on qmailctl queue..

2008-12-19 Thread senthil vel
Dear List,

I am willing to write a script which will check the current
queue, and make a mail to the sysadmin if mails in the queue reaches
a limit. In my very first step, i got a doubt.

qmailctl queue tempqueue.txt

will the above command will affect any mails in current queue?

Thanks and Regards,
S.Senthilvel,

Thanks Jack,
I wrote the script as follows, Can we make any improvement?

#!/bin/bash
touch /tmp/emailmsg.txt
hostname=`hostname`
cutofflimit=500
number=`/var/qmail/bin/qmail-qstat | awk '/messages in queue:/ { print $4 }'`
if [ $number -gt $cutofflimit ]
then
echo The number of mails in queue is greater than
$cutofflimit in the $hostname server. Please look into the server
immediately /tmp/emailmsg.txt
cat /tmp/emailmsg.txt | mail -sQueue status Warning For
$hostname mymai...@test.com
else
rm -f /tmp/emailmsg.txt

No. You cannot really harm/change the queue unless you install additional
tools (like those included with Qmailtoaster-Plus).

DSpam is a spam filter - you use it instead of Spamassassin. I do not
 know
of any packages to install it with QMT.
The Send Emails button is there, but it's not installed because it does
 not
work. In your build dirs, you'll see send-emails-toaster and can
 install
that to get the button but like I said, it's broken and no one has fixed
 it
 yet.
