Re: [qmailtoaster] Issue with qmail-inject!
Hi, Faced the same problem long time back. http://www.mail-archive.com/qmailtoaster-list@qmailtoaster.com/msg18687.html The cause of fatal:_unable_to_parse_this_line is, some of the spl characters must be added or removed from the header part which can't parsed by qmail-inject . I faced the problem due to a missing . *To:_...@domain.com * in that line, was there a _ before the email id? Analyzing the mail header or log properly for any such characters will be more helpful. Find at which place the transition occurred. In my case the problem was due to a MUA. the following link might also be helpful.. http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/qmail/users/135716 --S.Senthilvel On Wed, Nov 17, 2010 at 8:40 PM, Prasad Asokan prasadaso...@gmail.comwrote: Hi, We receive failure: qmail-inject:_fatal:_unable_ to_parse_this_line:/To:_...@domain.com on one of our QMT servers. To do this, go to /var/log/qmail/smtp/ #cd /var/log/qmail/smtp/ #ll or # ls -l check the log file for appropriate date and time. If anything does not work, use, grep -i 'prittyg...@yahoo.com.br' /var/log/qmail/smtp/* grep -i 'prittyg...@yahoo.com.br' /var/log/qmail/submission/* This may take long time and server resource. Re: [qmailtoaster] Re: Attack?
Hi Eric, In linux and administration works, there are many paths to a single destination. Thanks for pointing the smartest way. Hi Rafael, cat /var/log/qmail/smtp/* | grep -i prittyg...@yahoo.com.br (empty) cat /var/log/qmail/submission/* | grep -i prittyg...@yahoo.com.br (empty) instead of using 'prittyg...@yahoo.com.br', can you check with some other mail id which is very recent in the spam queue? in general, each log file inside /var/log/qmail will grow up to 1Mb by default and 100 log files will be preserved. So in some busy servers, only we can find logs for few hours. In your server, what is the oldest log file in smtp folder?. --Senthilvel. In this way we are using qmail-remove, there must be some other smarter way may be there to use this... As all the spam mails are having same from address anonym...@metalservice.ind.br mailto:anonym...@metalservice.ind.br, append this mail id to /var/qmail/control/badmailfrom file or /var/qmail/control/badmailto. This will be a temperarory solution. qmail-remove looks like a handy tool. Short of that, you can use qmHandle (part of QTP) to remove messages in the queue. It can delete messages according to the contents of from, to, or subject. FWIW, I agree that it's likely that a spammer obtained the password to one of your accounts, and is using it to submit messages. I'm going to butt out though, and let Senthil help you out. ;) -- -Eric 'shubes' - Qmailtoaster is sponsored by Vickers Consulting Group ( www.vickersconsulting.com) Vickers Consulting Group offers Qmailtoaster support and installations. The local server will fetch mails from the main server and deliver to the users. Now the number of users are increased (around 500). Now the time to complete one cycle of the fetch mail has been increased. In future, the number of user may increased further. Is there any possibility to run the fetch mail in multiple instances? or is there any alternatives can be used for fetch mails? Please provide your suggestions. Thanks and Regards, S.Senthilvel.

Dear Eric, Thanks for your suggestion. The thing is the main server is located in the datacenter. The local server is in our office. We are using the local server to fetch mails to our outlook (Internet is restricted to all users). Few users are there, called as roaming users, they will be located in different geographical location, They will use the main server to download mails. So that i cant implement this. (#5.3.0) Then i have removed the dksign as per the wiki. Now its working fine. Now as the qmail-inject does not enter in fetching mail, hope the problem will not occur again in future. Thanks again Eric and Ganesh... I don't blame you for asking here though. ;) I haven't used fetchmail much, and don't know of a fix or another workaround off hand. I feel the urge to ask though, why QMT is on the backend instead of the front end? QMT with spamdyke is one of the best front ends you can find. It is even well suited as a front end to MS Exchange (for those who just can't live without MSE). The only reason I can think of to have your configuration is that only some of the domain's users are on the QMT system. If that's not the case, I'd simply direct the MX for the domain to the QMT host (and retire the main server). -- -Eric 'shubes' - Qmailtoaster is sponsored by Vickers Consulting Group (www.vickersconsulting.com) Vickers Consulting Group offers Qmailtoaster support and installations. Re: [qmailtoaster] fetchmail:qmail-inject: fatal: unable to parse this line:
Dear Jack and Eric, Sorry for the delayed response. While looking practical, rsync is bit complected. Because half of the users are depending only in the main server (Roaming users). So we must implement directory level sync (/home/vpopmail/domains/domainname/username). Also the ssh keys or plain text password cannot be stored in both the servers. Because the main server is serving for few more domains also. So i shall search is there any fix in the fetchmail level. If there is any known fixes or solutions in the fetchmail, please share with me. Thanks and Regards, S.Senthilvel, On Wed, Aug 12, 2009 at 11:37 AM, Eric Shuberte...@shubes.net wrote: Jake Vickers wrote: Eric Shubert wrote: Jake Vickers wrote: Eric Shubert wrote: Jake Vickers wrote: senthil vel wrote: Thanks Jake and Eric, Both the servers are QMT. The main server works very best in all aspects including spam fighting. If we are using rsync instead of fetchmail, is it enough to sync the /home/vpopmail/domains/domainname directory? Or we need to look something more? I would sync the user's dir, and use the --delete option from rsync to remove the messages from the initial server on the next sync once the user has them. So you would reverse sync them; initiate the sync on the remote machine to the initial machine. I don't believe this would work. rsync is a one-way deal. Only one side can be the 'master'. And it doesn't really matter which side it's run on, only the order that the source/destination are specified in the command is significant. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this. If you run rsync on the remote machine and use the --delete option, any files that were deleted on the remote machine would be removed from the initial machine. It's not a 2-way sync, but it will remove the files from the other server this way after they've been downloaded by the user to keep them from getting multiple copies. So you would be making the remote machine the master, and when the users downloaded their mail those messages would be removed from the slave machine on the next sync (the slave being the main server and the master being the local one) And you are correct as to the order as far as defining the source and target. It would not matter what machine you ran it on. I would just do it this way for readability and so that the remote machine is calling the main - planning for failure points in the event the remote machine is not always available (else, why even have a remote machine?) That I understand. So how do the new messages get to the remote server if the remote server's the master? I thought he had said the remote server was using smtproutes to send messages. Did I miss that? I think he meant outbound from the backend. Now that you have me actually thinking about this, I suppose you could do a pull-push rsync (run it two times back to back) from the remote side. This would only work if the remote users were using pop3 though, not imap. A bit heavier on the bandwidth than it'd need to be, but it should work. I still think the best solution is to fix fetchmail though. That shouldn't be too difficult to do. -- -Eric 'shubes' - Qmailtoaster is sponsored by Vickers Consulting Group (www.vickersconsulting.com) Vickers Consulting Group offers Qmailtoaster support and installations. In some systems where we are using old setup, we were facing the same issue. Ronnie, hope if any modification done in the qmailadmin for the same user will again bring the problem back. Re: [qmailtoaster] Qmlog usage
Thanks Eric, Can the output of qmlog redirected to some text file? I am just trying to do the following, in /var/log/qmail/send/date, a user will enter the date in 'mmdd' format from webmin command editor. Then the following command is executed from the webmin qmlog -d `cat /var/log/qmail/send/date` send The output is different than running the same command from cli. Can we integrate this? If so we can implement the log analyser via webmin interface. Further when i tried to redirect the output to some file, it was also different(Like the output shown in the webmin) Thanks and Regards, S.Senthilvel, On Wed, May 27, 2009 at 9:40 PM, Eric Shubert e...@shubes.net wrote: senthil vel wrote: Dear List, While checking the usage of the qmlog, i got the following. qmlog v0.3 - show current log of service 'service' usage: qmlog service [option] ... services: authlib clamd imap4 imap4-ssl pop3 pop3-ssl send smtp spamd submission options: -h[elp] this help -l[ist] list saved logs of service -f follow as it grows, using 'tail -f' -t N show (tail) last N lines -nl show without using less -nt show with no trimming -d mmdd[:hhmm][-mmdd[:hhmm]] show logs that contain the date 'mmdd' [thru -'mmdd'] -lc regex show logs that contain a string that matches 'regex' -ln pattern show logs with file name containing 'pattern' -s command pipe output through sed 'command' -g regex show only lines that match the string 'regex' Can we use the qmlog to check the log of last year? Dear List, We have planned to migrate one domain from some other server to qmail toaster. We need to create the mail boxes in advance. But the mails sent from the domains which are configured in the same server reaches this mail box. We need to stop this. I have added this domain via qmailadmin. Re: [qmailtoaster] mails missing from some domains and self signed certificate problem
Hi, What was the reason for bouncing? Can you get any one of that bounce mails? By default /var/qmail/control/spfbehavior will have 3(reject mode). That may cause the mails to bounce back for the domains which are not having proper spf records. Try to get one of the bounced emails. If it is the reason for bounce, make /var/qmail/control/spfbehavior to 0 or 1. Plz do any changes after analyzing the reason for bounce. Please look into the server immediately /tmp/emailmsg.txt cat /tmp/emailmsg.txt | mail -sQueue status Warning For $hostname mymai...@test.com else rm -f /tmp/emailmsg.txt fi Thanks and Regards, S.Senthilvel, On Sat, Dec 20, 2008 at 12:27 AM, Jake Vickers j...@v2gnu.com wrote: senthil vel wrote: Dear List, I am willing to write a script which will check the current queue, and make a mail to the sysadmin if mails in the queue reaches a limit. No. You cannot really harm/change the queue unless you install additional tools (like those included with Qmailtoaster-Plus). - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-unsubscr...@qmailtoaster.com For additional commands, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-h...@qmailtoaster.com - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-unsubscr...@qmailtoaster.com For additional commands, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-h...@qmailtoaster.com

What are they? Can anyone explain to me.. Please... DSpam is a spam filter - you use it instead of Spamassassin. I do not know of any packages to install it with QMT. The Send Emails button is there, but it's not installed because it does not work. In your build dirs, you'll see send-emails-toaster and can install that to get the button but like I said, it's broken and no one has fixed it yet. - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-unsubscr...@qmailtoaster.com For additional commands, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-h...@qmailtoaster.com - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-unsubscr...@qmailtoaster.com For additional commands, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-h...@qmailtoaster.com - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-unsubscr...@qmailtoaster.com For additional commands, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-h...@qmailtoaster.com - QmailToaster hosted by: VR Hosted http://www.vr.org - To unsubscribe, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-unsubscr...@qmailtoaster.com For additional commands, e-mail: qmailtoaster-list-h...@qmailtoaster.com
