(we’ve yet to work the maze for getting him home). He is C-1 SCI. Top among the many emotional issues we
are challenged with is his feelings of helplessness for any signs of
frustration, fatigue, illness, etc. from me. This

Have the doctor prescribe something like nifedipine or some kind of

Doctors sure love putting people under. I refuse it whenever

Hey Silas I know too how you feel. I have been a quad 17 years this year.
My parents helped me from 1989 till -nov of 2000. My dad died in 2001 and
mom died in 2002. I married my school days sweetheart and we're doing
fine-but I surely was concerned for many years before 2002 about what

Yea but if a person has the strength to ride and stop and hold up a motorcycle and we all know know how much balance you need to ride one, why should you trust someone in this condition to even have a motorcycle license if you don't even think it's safe for him to walk then how in the hell is
I do not have a problem with this if they are mobility

limits their ability to manage significant distances independently.

I rarely use the handicapped spots. Usually the lift area isnt
big enough but I know it's not going to kill me to push a lil further. I

Well I've seen the abuse that people get away with using permits and the one that pisses me off the most is the one issued to people that are diagnosed with obesity!

Dear Mark, I was not clear in my post. The

the mother requires the permit due to illness then have the dr. sign away at the

I change bags/catheters once a month, but switch
between leg and bed bags daily and so my aides clean both once a day. As to
plugging catheter to allow bladder to fill, I've heard of it but never done it.
I can barely take being irrigated much less being plugged up, I wet myself more
That's cool but I would think it's the doctors recommendation that should dictate who is deserving of a disabled permit?
I mean maybe not all regular pregnancies deserve these permits but I'm sure some are when you think about it they give one armed people disabled permits but I've never see
Dear Mark,
Handicap parking in my area CT,NY,and NJ is totally abused by
fake permits, people just running in etc. I usually park across two spots
and hope no one hits me as they are backing out as I traverse the parking
lot.
