After you apply your medication you might also try TUCKS CLOTHS. You just place them where they need to go on the outside and they help to numb the area and shrink the hemorrhoids. I don't know which is worse,,a bad tooth or a bad roid. I hope they help you. Kathy in Mississippi

I have my bottom rinsed in cold water (low water pressure) on the commode chair as last part of every shower, for cleaning. I use Nupercainal (OTC) whichhelps numb the pain, Lidocaine (prescription) to completely numb them for about an hour when it gets real bad. There's a steroid Analpram
