If someone is considering moving and buying a home ... it might be worth the effort to move to a Homestead State. Texas is one of them.

My only insurance's Medicare and I had to have [well, it was the last ditch effort to try to get rid of my dangerous Proteus bacteria] at-home IV antibiotics.
At that time, the Medicare Part D. Prescription Drug Plan had not yet gone into effect. And Medicare did not cover any drug expenses
My first van was paid for with money raised at a fund raiser that
some friends of my parents through for me while I was still in rehab.
Nothing fancy. Just a $5 all the beer you can drink type thing.
