Hi Dan,
That makes me glad that I set my own schedule. Infection of any kind, always
need to be avoided when you're a Quad!

Cullen,
Welcome to the quad list. My name is Naomi and I am also a quad due to
Transverse Myelitis. July 2 will be my two year anniversary date. I joined
the
quad list, because it has more information pertaining to me and my condition,
then the Transverse Myelitis list. I live in

I use a shoulder strap now, but I have someone put it on before I get into
the vehicle. I can go all day with an on, but I preferred to usually only
have it on when I am driving. If you would like I can try to have my
brother take some photos tonight or tomorrow and send them to you.

THANK YOU SO MUCH

I definitely agree that he probably died as a result of some complication to
an infection which was more than likely brought on or exacerbated by some
sort of experimental treatment. Frankly I thought he was always in complete
denial and never got past that stage of recovery. But, in many ways
I'd like to see it.

I live with my folks and my brothers (two) come by and help out every
morning of everyday. (Basics listed) dressed and placed in chair. One gets

before work and the other comes here from work.
At nights they switch off every other night to put me back in bed with
my/our Father.
Keith,
If you can't find a male aide, have you thought about a lifting device like
a hoyer lift to assist your aide with your transfer? It might be a good idea
to keep one around anyways.

You need to get an overhead bed lift..my grandkids or anyone can get me up
or down with ease. Might check into your state vocation rehab to see if they
can help with new lift. My lift came with a full sling but I paid $200 bucks
out of pocket for a quick 2 piece strap set, and we get up or
Most overhead lifting devices have to be mounted in a reinforced ceiling.
That is not always easy to do.
However there are a couple of manufacturers sold by SpinLife.com that sell,
surface mounted, overhead lift devices (24 volts) that have surface mounted
legs that support the structure.
I agree with Dan, an overhead is the best to get. I have the Portable
Voyager Lift with the Easy Track Three Post System. We use it to
transfer between my chair and bed. Since the lift itself is light
weight and portable you can put the tracks where you want them and
just move the lift from

It is true that we don't know what your financial situation is. You might try
calling your local independant living center. They can often help and give
sugestions according to your ability to pay. You can buy a hoyer lift on e-bay
and run an ad in a newspaper for what you can afford. You
