Women tend to be more self-conscious about their weight and I *hate* my
quad tummy (that has gotten bigger over the years and has nothing to do with
food) but us quads have no stomach muscles so there is nothing I can do
about it. I eat very little and eat healthy but have only gained weight.
My home health aide told me I could dial 411 to get connected with any
person or place in any state (where I was unaware of the number) in the same
manner as described below. I thought it was free but when we got our next
phone bill it was something like a dollar!
So 411 charges but what is
Lori and all others, you should contact your primary telephone, customer
service or business office and
advise them of your disAbility. In most cases your 411 will not be charged.
But you have to register first.

Right on W. I really worry that info about how devastating and degrading an

otherwise been. I dread thinking people might find out about
True Wheelie. I've had free 411 and free operator dialing for many
years through several different phone companies. And you do have to
tell them (with a doc's statement if I remember right) that you're a
cripple and can't handle a phone book or dial phone numbers.

I just remembered something. About two or three years ago I was somehow
contacted (can't remember the specifics) by someone doing a survey on the
local hospitals here in Tucson. A *phone* survey. And everyone else taking
the survey (there were about 5 others than myself - all women who had been

Just one quick thought is to look into city and county programs also. I had
help from my county to make my bathroom accessible and my city did
something, but I can't recall it right now.

Hi Kandy,
I STRONGLY recommend joining the group below and pose your question there as
well. You will get LOTS of quality input from caregivers who have been there
and done that. You'll have to create a Yahoo account, but it's free and
easy. Do it today or ASAP.
