It is electric - uses 2 12 volt car sized batteries. The top speed is 8mph although it is advertised at 10 mph. It is a lot of fun but one has to have fairly good muscle control to operate it. Balance is very important and then there's the transfer into and out of it.

My 1st chair, Quickie320 had the Peachtree drive system on it too, but I could not get it to drive right. It wasn't callabrated right. My chair tech put a chin drive which is what I am using now. I have a brand new chair with a Majatek drive system sitting in my spare bedroom for 21/2 yrs now.
