That is possible, but hard to believe as there are pages you have to sign,

RE: [QUAD-L] Redman wheelchair opinions please

2007-07-20 Thread Michelle Carston
Let the BUYER BEWARE when dealing with Redman Power Chair!! I purchased
their chair several years ago (paid in full in advance - Never Again!)
because it looked like a great chair from the website and full-page ads in
New Mobility. LONG story short, I refused to accept the chair the day it
was delivered for many reasons, and was told there would be a restocking fee
of 20% - no problem. We recovered a couple thousand dollars, then waited
and waited and waited only to receive court documents that the company was
filing bankruptcy. Well, they're obviously STILL in business with over
$10,000 belonging to my family, which we will never see again.

I wound up getting a Quickie 646 SE and LOVE it. It doesn't stand, but oh
well. It's exactly what I need. If you want to stand badly enough, look
into standing frames!

If any of you missed my documentary on Discovery Health called Paralyzed and
Pregnant, it will air again on July 31st at 9:00 PM, August 1st at 12:00 AM,
and August 4th at 1:00 PM, all EST. My son, Pierce, is now 21 months old,
runs around like a mad man getting into everything possible, and loves
chasing his Toy Poodle, Duke. I am still suffering from orthostatic
hypotension, and continue to baffle the medical community. I have posted
some pictures at: www.myspace.com/michellecarston

Good luck in your quest to find the right chair for you!

If you live near Arazona service might be better. I have trouble with not
enough tourqe when needed. There answer is to turn up acceleration. The
chair works good but service sucks here again your location is everthing.

Add a little mirilax to your diet. A lot of quads take meds that dry their
bowel and large intestine. The mirilax carries the water on through. You sort
of have to adjust your own dosage. It doesn't cause cramps. Often a small
amount is all it takes to stay on your schedule. You may want to ask our doctor
about glycolax. (generic name)

Good luck,

Remember that you are doing the work and others will benefit from that work.

Well a short answer is hijacking one at an intersection when no one is
looking, but that has its inherent dangers and could create other problems, if
ya
get my drift.

New vans are not cheap and the cost of upgrading them cost more each year.
Finding a van that will last a
long long time also depends on how well you take care of the van. Finding a
happy medium between need, wants, desires and what you can afford is the
challenge you now face. Did I also mention Sugar Daddy
But that also presents its challenges.

[QUAD-L] Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities,

2007-07-20 Thread Quadskydiver
Anybody heard of this treaty?

I happened to find this while looking at U.S. demographics at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disabled. Either I am in the dark or we all need
to get the Government here to become more active enforcing these Rights.
Especially over utilization of nursing homes to meet long term care needs.

On December 13, 2006, the United Nations formally agreed on the Convention on
the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the first human rights treaty of the
21st century, to protect and enhance the rights and opportunities of the
world's estimated 650 million disabled people.[1] Countries that sign up to the
convention will be required to adopt national laws, and remove old ones, so
that persons with disabilities would, for example, have equal rights to
education, employment, and cultural life; the right to own and inherit
property; not be discriminated against in marriage, children, etc; not be
unwilling subjects in medical experiments.

   Glory to GOD
Sincerely, Jim Rice C-56 10 yrs. post

I have a dream that one day soon, all people with physical challenges will be
treated equally. I will not let things I am not able to do yet, Stop what the
LORD I can. !!!

2. How many players are drafted/player roster -example- QB, RB, RB, WR, WR,
WR, TE, K, DEF
3, Since it's a live draft...how long per pick? 1 minute per pick or 90 sec.

Well, I thank you for posting the offer.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try hard, you get what you
need
Rear-entry vans, can be dangerous to your health. You go in forwards, come
out backwards, blindly.
You can't perform a turn around. You are limited to space and carrying
others could be more difficult.
ADA Parking was never designed around rear-entry vehicles. In some major
cities, rear entry and rear discharge may be illegal. It often depends on who
did the conversion on the Toyota.
Gives you something to think about, eh?

rear entry is for the driver, Some quad drivers may have opinions here on that.

I don't think there's a 'best' in any vehicle you purchase. Lemons come in
all sizes! I have a 94 full size Ford with a 302 engine. It has 90,000-some
miles on it. It runs fine but I 've had maintenance done on the lift many
times. The more you add to a vehicle, the more that can go wrong. I'm not sure
there's an answer to that question when it comes to needing a van with
accessible equipment.
