Adam, What is the file size of the photos you are using. My experience with Photoshop is that they are usually very large files. What is the lowest resolution you can go with and still get the detail you need. Smaller files will speed up the redraw time. John

No flame thrower here due to top posting - it's Outlook (Nomex gear on). Fernando, it sounds like a dead battery (PRAM battery), but you would get some signs of life (HD spinning, fan whirring, etc), none of which is mentioned in your message. This will lead me to checking the power connections:
