I think the highest gearing option was on the early Fiesta and Escort
diesels.
But later on (after around 1986) they changed to almost standard ratios
on the diesels.
It seems to be impossible to tell from the outside of the box exactly
what the ratios are (even from the metal tag) unless you
Ouch! Sounds painful.

Just to keep you all in the loop
Thanks for keeping us up to date. Sounds unpleasant but it is amazing what
they can do with superglue and gaffer tape these days. Please pass on our
good wishes to Carole when you next speak to her, doubt she has the time or
inclination to check e mails at the moment.

Best wishes from Anita and myself, too.

Hi All,
I've found that the LED on my immobiliser drains 28mA - I'd like to know how
far a battery can be drained before it could be a problem starting (cant find
anything on the 'net). I realise the ambient temp will make a difference, but
just wanted to get an idea of how long could be
I dont mean to be intrusive or anything but i was just wondering what
i should have my agreed value at for the insurance, currently on the
club scheme with footman james.
Ive got it at £2000, when i took out the policy i had not done any
work to it (apart from a full respray) When i come round
I was thinking on the lines of just over £3k but wasnt sure if i would
be pushing it a bit.
My dads managed to get unlimited mileage with adrian flux on the other

what box have you got? I thought I had the highest geared available
and am quite a bit higher than that. I recall standard was 3500 rpm @

I've used have been quite inaccurate ( which is why I had fun getting

I'm having similar questions about my alarm. In the bike world they
are known to kill a battey inside a week or two.
I leave my car on trickle charge now all the time I'm tempted to put a
timer in so that it only tops up once per week for a few hours but
perhaps overkill?

Hmm good question.
Mine I have at 8000. I put that down to. Standard 2+2 plus the cost

garage costs to fit.

At Ford Dunton any battery on a fleet vehicle that had run flat due to the
drain imposed by security systems was replaced.
The late Gerry Lee, an electrician in the fleet workshop, devised a means
of ensuring that the battery would not drain below the point where it
would not allow a normal
Hiya
I cannot advise on the capacity, however the semi portable jump start
boxes you can buy with a tyre inflater / torch etc have a 15Ahr 'Gel'
battery in them, and have got me out of trouble in the past.
If the car is garaged - have you thought of a trickle charger - they
only give 100mA @

How do you know?
I'm not being funny about this, especially since fuel economy is now much
