The reason I think it happened is because first there was a failed update. Then had to update it a second time. Then all of us regular posters at the time were posting and we all had the same anomalies and bugs going on. Alot of weird things going wrong with the system. Even on Andrew Wongs

After setting UEFI/Legacy Boot to "Legacy Only" and Boot Priority to "Legacy First", I was able to complete the installation and setup process. Qubes is now running, although with a bunch of errors. I'm going to experiment to see if I can get it working with UEFI. I'll try @awokd's advice and
