Usually the delay is caused by using the default synth in Windows. Installing a midi driver such as Coolsoft Virtual MIDI Synth and tweaking its delay value can help. Though with that driver in particular it may cause a bit of stuttering if it's set to 0. On 4/7/2018 1:23 AM, Lizzie

Sometimes. Most notation programs prefer port 1. Use standard General MIDI program numbers and they should get the stave titles right, though they often will default to your track title. (I know Finale does this and has dating back to Finale 3.0, and I'm pretty sure Sibelius does as well)

Unfortunately, the only way it appears you can loop is by using the left and right markers. God bless! Seth > On Apr 5, 2018, at 8:56 AM, Matt T wrote: > > Hi folks. I no you can do this by selecting the left and right marker with > shit+r and l. > But could it be

Hi. Thank you for all of this advice. I'm usually very straightforward with this stuff, and if the instrumentalists need to change something themselves they can indicate that. What I meant was, when you record with an external keyboard your ports are whatever, but how do you make it so it doesn't

Well, what are you using for your sound source? The default Microsoft Wavetable Synth has a latency problem, but other options don't. -Original Message- From: mai...@andrelouis.com [mailto:mai...@andrelouis.com] On Behalf Of Tyler Zahnke Sent: Friday, April 06, 2018 9:42 PM To: QWS list

That's really interesting, but what if, for example, you want one part of your song with strings bowed and another part pizzicato, those are two different sounds on the keyboard. Also, do you know of any notation software that might be as blind accessible and straightforward as QWS is with MIDI? I

Yes, it uses the old slow MS Wavetable Synth. Change that as soon as you can -- I use BassMIDI with about 15 Sound Font banks for my default sounds, but other options exist. -Original Message- From: mai...@andrelouis.com [mailto:mai...@andrelouis.com] On Behalf Of Tyler Zahnke Sent:

Does that one have any delay? If not, could you use an external keyboard and still keep all the sound inside the computer? I found that worked with the Microsoft synth, I was able to get two tracks, but the delay bugs me. Lizzie On 4/7/18, Nicole Massey wrote: > Yes, it

The shift from arco to pizzicato is not something notation programs tend to pick up, though it would make sense for some of this to be automated. But in my experience it's something that has to go in the same way as dynamics, articulations, and expressions. And while we're at it, bowing symbols

The coolsoft Engine has less of a delay problem then does Bassmidi. However, there is still some latency even with the Coolsoft engine. The best and easiest way to have a sound source without any delay problems is to use a hardware synth, like a Yamaha keyboard. God bless! Seth > On Apr 7,

This all depends on the power of your computer and audio interface. I've gotten it down to no noticeable latency, along the lines of what you get with most synthesizers and keyboards with their own sound sources. If you get the buffer size too low then any software sound source is going to give
