So, for those who need it, the command to remove the system attribute
is:
attrib -s c:\Media /s
where "C:\Media" is replaced with the directory of your choice.
-s = system
/s = change this in the current and all subdirectories
for the noobs ;-)

Wow...I can't believe I figured this out...this is a BUG
(at least I consider it a bug.)
Apparently, the SYSTEM file attribute was the cause. Once I changed the
attribute (attrib -s *), the files showed up in the list
Why ignore files marked with the system attribute?

I moved the directory to c:\Media...not change. the scanner is still
missing the same directories.
This must have something to do with some file or path issue...maybe it
doesn't like the name or something...this seems unlikely to me.

There is not reason..true...but the scanner log appears to be in
alphabetical order...I checked the who log and those directories are
not there at all.
rescanned...cleared and rescanneduninstalled and reinstalled the

Well, when I look at the scanner log, I see that whole entire
sub-directories are just plain skipped... I don't get it, this seems
odd.
it is consistently skipping the same sub-directories each and every
time.
I look at the directory names and nothing is odd...no weird

Something like this happened to me when I upgraded from one server
release to another and a cleanup fixed it. If you're absolutely
certain that your entire music library lies within the path you've
configured in Squeezebox Server, run the second cleanup option ("Clean
cache folder...") on the adv

I know it -shouldn't- matter. It's just that I noticed a very
interesting correlation.
I suspect that the gadget, when I change stations, sends requests out

Hi there,
I love the Squeezebox (except for the fact id doesn't talk to my Twonky
server on my NAS device...)
One serious problem though... it does not see my complete collection of
MP3's
It seems to go to about 1600+ and stop... that doesn't work so well for
me since I have over 11k mp3's

I'm with toby here, it has nothing to do with distance, it is a
MySB.com problem. Running radio through my SBS, which I almost never

This has been my experience too. More than likely that is what is
going on.

Even "open" networks that do not require any specific login info (room
#, password, etc...) will often still require a simple "accept terms"
click.
SB players do not have built in web browsers so therefore the players
cannot see nor respond to such simple input requests.

Distance to the server shouldn't matter in the issue of displaying art

SBS running on your computer does handle this issue much better than
does MySqueezeBox.com.
But the streams (and included data within the stream) are still
traveling the same distance.
